The historic Kilkea Castle, built in 1180, is the oldest inhabited castle in all of Ireland. This stunning 180-acre estate was originally built as a medieval stronghold of the Fitzgerald's, Earls of Kildare.

Carriage Rooms-
€200/night, sleeps 2 - Carriage rooms are modern in style and are located within the Castle Courtyard. There are limited carriage rooms available, please book soon. If you choose this as an option you may request a Lodge room on Fri night and a Carriage room Saturday and Sunday- the castle staff will move your bags for you. Please see "Where to stay Friday" below.
Lodge Rooms-
1 bedroom single lodges- €160/night, sleeps 2.
3 bedroom self-catering lodges- €250/night (3 nights), €350/night (2 nights), sleeps 6.
The Lodges are located on the grounds overlooking the golf course with the Castle as your backdrop. Each room has it's own bathroom and patio. Lodge rooms are reserved individually and can be grouped together for parties/families traveling together- please notify reservations when booking if you'd like rooms together.
When booking rooms, please call or email Siofra or Anna (do not book/cancel online) and mention the O'Donnell/Walshe wedding for the discounted rate. A credit card is required to reserve your room but will not be charged until check-out. The castle only requires a 48 hour notice to cancel your room without penalty.
If you are in need of childcare for the wedding reception, please notify reservations when booking your room and they will kindly arrange for you.

For those staying in Dublin...
We have a block of rooms reserved at the Camden Court Hotel for Friday July 1, 2022. Please reference the O'Donnell/Walshe wedding to get the discounted rate of €220 (includes breakfast for 2). Please either call or email to book your room.

* There will be a Coach bus picking up guests outside the Camden Court Hotel on July 2, 2022 between 11a-12p, taking them to Kilkea Castle- the bus will return guests to Dublin on Monday July 4th, leaving around 12p.
For those staying on the Castle grounds...
The castle is reserved for all our guests SATURDAY- MONDAY, but due to another event on the grounds Friday, there may be a limited number of rooms available. For those of you wanting to stay on the premises Friday, we suggest you book your room asap and be specific with reservations- they will let you know if a Lodge is available. For those of you who have reserved a Carriage or Castle Room for Saturday & Sunday, the Kilkea staff has kindly offered to move your luggage on Saturday to your new room.

Golf- if you plan to golf, the castle recommends reserving ASAP, they usually book months in advance. There is no charge to cancel.
