How did they meet?

Abaigh and Toby went through high school having friends in common, but never had the chance to meet.

When Abaigh was revising for her A Level exams, she used the local Cafe Nero as a base to study.  She met a dashing young man who worked at this Cafe Nero who's smile (and free coffee) kept her going. Chatting became Facebook stalking, stalking became messaging, messaging became texting and the rest - as they say - is history.

Abaigh and Toby went on their first date in June 2010 and, by the time they get married, will have been together for 11 years!

The Proposal Story!

Ann, Jeff, Abaigh, Toby and Freddie spend most of their Easter breaks in Hope Cove, Devon. However, Easter 2019 was set to be a special one.

Hope Cove is one of Abaigh's favourite places in the world and there is no where better for walks (particularly to Salcombe!), enjoying the beach and pints of Mena Dhu. A few years ago, Abaigh and Toby bought a print that shows a picture-perfect view of the whole of Hope Cove Bay which now lives in their bedroom.

After struggling for a few days to get Jeff alone to ask, Toby eventually got Jeff's permission. Toby then suggested to Abaigh that they recreate the walk that the three Comptons, one Moon, and two Le Serves took to Thurlestone the year before.

On the way back, Toby carefully took this picture without Abaigh's knowledge. Just after the picture was taken, Abaigh turned around quickly forcing Toby to throw the open box in his pocket. For a few heart-stopping moments, Toby thought he had dropped the ring but eventually found it deep in the bottom of his pocket.

Toby then got down on one knee, in front of the view recreated in the print.
