How Did We Meet?
Christian and Cheyenne met in 2010 as seniors in high school during an introductory meeting for their college scholarship foundation, The Posse Foundation. Christian saw Cheyenne, a stranger at the time, and described her as "bad" to a close friend. Despite being dared to engage, Christian failed to talk to her at the time. As luck or fate would have it, Christian and Cheyenne were both selected to attend Babson College, where their friendship began, developed, and transformed into a relationship.
Making It Official
After two years of friendship in college, Christian continued failing to make the first move. The growing chemistry prompted Cheyenne to leave Christian an anonymous note ("Warm Fuzzies" for our fellow Posse fam) at the annual Posse retreat. This led to a mutual acknowledgement of interest to pursue something deeper. The following year while studying abroad Christian, Cheyenne, and their friends spent a week traveling across Italy. This trip sparked the beginning of their relationship.
In the 8th year of their relationship, Christian and Cheyenne went on an impromptu vacation to the Dominican Republic. What Cheyenne thought was a simple vacay with their friends was actually her surprise engagement. Christian proposed on the second night of vacay on the beach, under the stars and sounds of crashing waves. Taken by surprise, Cheyenne was elated and the vacay turned into a celebration all weekend long.
Our Culture: We have a strong bond through our shared Trinidadian culture. We both enjoy our culture's food, vibes, and music - hence the name Mr & Mrs Fete.
Favorite Places We've Traveled: As a couple we've traveled to over 15 countries together. Our top 3 experiences are hiking the Piton in St. Lucia, eating our way through Spain, and drinking Port wine in the Douro Valley in Portugal.
Favorite Foods: One of our favorite activities is trying new restaurants and cocktail bars. Our top 3 food choices are Mediterranean, curry (Trini, Indian, or Thai), and a good burger.
Favorite TV Shows: We love a good binge! Our favorite shows include Game of Thrones, Snowfall, Succession, Insecure, Last of Us, and The Walking Dead.
Favorite Date Night: One of our favorite date spots was Pearl's, the Caribbean restaurant in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. We became regulars and brought many of our friends and family to join us in the fun vibes, tasty food, and regular free rum punch shots from the bartender. RIP Pearl's, but the memories live on!
Favorite Moments: Some of our favorite moments include great music and vibes, such as chipping in Carnivals, not sleeping at Soca Ibiza music festival, dancing for 3 days in the sand with our friends at Afro Nation Portugal, singing our hearts out at Beyoncé's Renaissance concert, and dying of laughter during game nights with our friends and family.
Looking to the future: As a married couple, we're excited to extend our family with little curly head kids, creating a loving home, and continuing to travel the world together.
