The Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science (MSMS) provides a rigorous and engaging academic curriculum for 11th and 12th graders. Students are selected to attend based on merit rather than on income level. MSMS relies on donations to fund scholarships, purchase advanced science equipment, and hire exceptionally qualified faculty from around the country. Without the generous support from donors, many low income students who are otherwise bright scholars would not be able to attend this residential high school. I graduated in the class of 2007, and I would not be where I am today without the advanced education, life changing experiences, and unforgettable memories I had at this school.
The National Hemophilia Foundation (NHF) provides support for patients young and old with bleeding disorders. The NHF helps ensure patients with bleeding disorders of all backgrounds and income levels can have access to quality healthcare and the support system they require. I work daily with patients with bleeding disorders, and without the NHF's assistance, many of these patients would not have access to lifesaving medications and treatments.
