Food is the essence of life.

For Italians, this has been true for centuries. The people of Italy live to eat, and it's visible in their appreciation of well-made dishes and their interest in each ingredient and where it was grown. This will be an evening to appreciate the bounty of the family's farm, Podere San Gregorio, to enjoy food and wine, and each other.

There will be an opportunity for anyone that is interested to learn the technique and secrets of making delicious “pici”, the traditional, handmade pasta of the Val d’Orcia. Mixing and kneading the dough, and rolling strips of dough by hand to make delicate, irregularly shaped spaghetti is a favorite experience for all guests—young and old!

The Isabella Experience

Castelmuzio, Tuscany

The Isabella Experience will work magic on you. Isabella's team provides top-level personal assistance, customized planning from the moment of arrival and throughout your stay. Their attention to details and special touches will make you feel like a confident traveler and pampered guest. Animated by a passion for hospitality and a deep knowledge of the region, they will help you craft a delightful stay in the heart of Italy.

Isabella will offer a menu of activities and connections to local providers, with a wide enough variety to appeal to all - wine tastings, guided walks in the countryside, lunch and a tour of the family farm, and more. Costs will range from approximately 10 or 15 euro per person and up. Her staff will also assist with recommendations for lunches and Wednesday night dinner on your own.

Private events

We have reserved La Moscadella as well as some accommodations in the village of Castelmuzio, which is an 8-minute walk or 5-minute drive away, from Monday, August 23 through Saturday August 26th. (Check out by 10 am.)

Kindly fill out this form to RSVP by November 22nd and let us know if you will be able to join us. Since La Moscadella requires a single payor, we will be making everyone's payments on their behalf, and will need to receive your 50% deposit by December 1st.

The cost for guests will be $1200 per person. This will cover 5 nights of lodging and breakfast each morning. In addition, we will be hosting dinner each evening except for Wednesday, when the staff will be making preparations for the wedding celebration. We can receive payment of your deposit through a variety of methods, including Venmo or old-fashioned methods like checks. Contact us to discuss or with any questions!

The Isabella Experience has rave reviews on Tripadvisor. La Moscadella is Isabella's newest property. We loved our stay at Casa Morriciani in 2017, and have family members that have stayed with Isabella multiple times.

Castelmuzio is easy to reach by car and located near the town of Pienza. It is a 40 minute drive west from the A-1 autostrada.

Below are the approximate driving times from the major airports:
- Florence 1.5 hours
- Rome     2.5 hours
- Pisa         2.5 hours
- Venice 3.5 hours
- Milan      5 hours

We recommend that you arrive either by:
1) renting a car at the airport and driving directly from there, or
2) taking the train to the Terontola-Cortona (on the main line between Florence and Rome) train station and renting a car there.

For those not wanting to drive (which is MUCH better than Ireland, BTW) we can suggest some private transportation options.

Driving Directions

In additon to the 4 event meals, breakfast will be served for all guests at La Moscadella between 7:30 and 9:30 am each morning.

Lunch will be on your own, as well as dinner on Wednesday. Isabella and her team will be able to assist you with recommendations and reservations for anything, from a classic hole-in-the-wall Tuscan trattoria to a top-rated Michelin star restaurant.
