While this picture isn't from our first meeting (we'd gone to school together for years already), it was the first class and extended time we had together. I spent virtually every class distracted by her and had a massive crush on Carolina, a fact which was not exactly a secret to anyone that knew me. Apparently Carolina had a bit of a crush as well and the evidence is all over my yearbook from Sophomore year. But, basically, I failed to muster up the courage to ask her out when I had my chance all those years ago but at least we got a solid throwback photo.

Our first trip together in the states which mainly involved beer and sea lions

Prior to our trip to Belgium, we had been seeing each other for about a month and a half. Despite the short amount of time, we were both crazy about each other and didn't want to have to say goodbye for who knows how long. Carolina mentioned off-hand that I should come with her back to Europe and I didn't hesitate, booking a flight that night to join her. Our last night in Brussels we became officially official.

November 6, 2021. Roughly 5 months after we started dating we got engaged, the ring accompanied by a speech that the world will never know because we both forgot what I said. The element of surprise was gone weeks in advance thanks to myself and her mom's inability to keep our excitement down. However, despite Carolina knowing what was coming, she had waved/slapped her empty ring finger in my face during this same trip while singing single ladies. Despite that, it was still incredibly nerve wracking getting all the moving parts in place and worth every moment of preparation for the moment we got to experience together.

A night that most likely ended in picking up Taco Bell on the way home and an early morning run to get Pedialyte

10/10 would recommend, just don't panic trying to swim in mud it doesn't help
