One late night at a concert in Brooklyn, Bernard tried to strike up a conversation with Brooke. She was busy dancing, and didn't ever talk to boys, so it was hard for him to get her attention. Ten seconds later, she was head over heels. The next day, they met for a date. She met all of his friends, and they went dancing, and decided to go gambling in Atlantic City! After a weekend of adventure, Bernard had to return home to Amsterdam. He told Brooke, "I have a nice life, all I need is someone to share it with. Come see!" And so she did...!

One month after they met, Brooke went to Amsterdam to visit Bernard and see this life of his that was supposedly so nice. And it was! She loved it there so much that she decided to stay.
They moved into an apartment near the forest, where they can go on walks every day to see the ponies, the duckies and the 17th century town nearby. They love cooking together and hosting their friends for elaborate meals. And on the weekends they take their kayak out in the canals.

In months that followed, Brooke and Bernard spent their time exploring Europe. They went to to the beaches in Portugal and Spain, and visited historic towns in Germany, Belgium, Luxembourg and Switzerland! All the while, they were imagining how their future together might look.

By the time Bernard took Brooke back home to Lebanon, Brooke was quite attached. She was struck with wonder and awe as she experienced the culture, the landscape, the food and the people from his world. In just a few days, Bernard saw that she had fallen in love with his home and his family, and they knew they didn't ever want to let go.

Next stop, Texas! Brooke took Bernard for a culture shock of his own, to see how she grew up in the Wild West. They went to Dallas to meet her family, The Ranch where Brooke spent her childhood rodeo-ing, Fort Worth, and Austin. Bernard quickly adapted to cowboy culture; he fit right in once he learned that cowboys don't smile. From Texas, they continued on to Mexico to unwind at the beach after a month of Latham family fun.

One day, they were on a sailing trip in the Bahamas with Brooke's family. In the morning, they went snorkeling inside of Pablo Escobar’s sunken airplane. Then they took a small boat through the mangroves and arrived at a special beach called Shroud’s Cay. When they turned the corner, Brooke’s whole family was there waiting, and Bernard got down on one knee!
