FAQ
FAQ
WHAT IS A ROOM BLOCK?

• This means that Britney & Shaji have paid a deposit to pre-reserve rooms for your group
• The couple has signed a contract with the resort and has committed to a minimum number of rooms
• Only rooms booked with Bridie Travel LLC count toward this contract
• The resort has a 3-night minimum stay requirement, but you are welcome to come earlier or stay later!
• We have reserved several different room types for you to choose from.

CAN WE COME EARLIER OR STAY LATER?

Absolutely!
Please include your requested dates on the reservation form and we will confirm availability.

HOW MUCH WILL THIS COST?

The rates listed are PER PERSON and include:
• Hotel Accommodations
• All Inclusive Meal Plan – Also includes all beverages including alcohol
• Round trip private group transportation for group attendees between Cancun International Airport (CUN) and resort
• Hotel, taxes & gratuities
• All wedding events & activities

Optional: Travel insurance is available to protect your investment

IS THERE A PAYMENT PLAN

Yes!
Initial deposits of $150 per person are non-refundable and are due by Wednesday, April 9, 2025 and final payment is due Wednesday, July 30, 2025. You are welcome to make additional payments at any time. You will receive a monthly automated payment reminder, which you can choose to make a payment or ignore.

What if i need to book and cancel?

• Since all-inclusive resorts are pre-paid AND non-refundable, travel insurance is encouraged to protect your investment.
• Life is unpredictable; plans can change.
• The cost of insurance is based on the cost of your room plus your age. We will provide you with a quote when you receive your initial invoice before you submit your deposit.
• Without insurance, there are no refunds should your plans change.
• Without insurance, you will also not have any medical coverage for mishaps or catastrophic events. Your US health insurance will likely not work outside the US.

DO I NEED A PASSPORT?

Yes, all international travelers are required to have a passport, including infants and children. To learn more about the application process, please visit the U.S. Department of State website.

IMPORTANT! If you do not have a passport or need to renew your passport, please do so right away. The passport offices are taking 4-6 weeks for expedited and 7-10 weeks for standard service.

As of September 2024
- for routine passport renewal, you can now do this online through the US Department of State! Online renewals are taking 6-8 weeks for turnaround and expedited service is not offered at this time.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I DON'T BOOK WITH BRIDIE TRAVEL?

Britney & Shaji have paid a deposit to pre-reserve rooms for your group. They have a group contract that allows them to offer additional benefits for their guests. The couple kindly asks that you book your hotel within our designated group contract here at Bridie Travel.

There are several reasons why you should honor the couple’s wishes and book the hotel portion with the group:
• The couple has worked with me to negotiate a contract for the ENTIRE group. This allows the couple to offer some amazing and fun surprises for all of you.
• These events and special amenities are based on a group minimum and the couple is required to meet that minimum number of rooms. Rooms booked outside the group contract do not count toward this minimum.
• Groups are given priority status at the resort, so you might miss out on some VIP treatment.
• Groups are given priority room assignments, so if you book directly, you’re likely getting a room that couldn’t be sold to a group. It will be leftover inventory, probably in an undesirable location away from everyone else.
• Groups are given priority in terms of an oversold situation. If the hotel over sells, your group is protected but your reservation is not. You could be walked to another location.

Guests who do not book within the group contract unfortunately:
• Will not get the group rates
• Will not be not be protected by the cancellation policies we’ve negotiated.
• Will have to pay upfront vs. over time.
• Will not receive any pre-departure, trip support or post-trip support from me.
• Cannot have Bridie Travel assist with travel arrangements made outside of the group, nor can assist in the event of an emergency.
• Are not “officially” recognized by the hotel as being part of our event. The hotel group contract and wedding event pricing are planned in tandem.
• Guests staying off property will be charged a day pass to attend the wedding events. The resort has the right to stop selling day passes at any time.

WHAT ABOUT AIRFARE?

• Yes, you are required to book your own flights into Cancun International Airport (CUN). If you need assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me to book airfare to Cancun, Mexico. The airport code is CUN.
• It is not advised to fly to Cozumel (CZN) or Tulum (TQO) Airports as they are much further away and there will be an additional cost for the transfer.
• We recommend you purchase your flights as soon as possible. You can book via your favorite airline and consider using miles or credit card points, if you have them.
• Due to contract deadlines, we recommend booking your hotel room as early as possible and adding air when you’re ready.
• Please send your flight information in no later than Wednesday, October 1, 2025. This is how I schedule your ground transportation in Cancun.

There are two ways to submit your flight information:
1. Enter your flight information via the online form that will be emailed out closer to your departure date.
OR
2. Forward a screenshot of your arrival and departure fights showing your airline, flight number, arrival/departure dates and times, as well as your confirmation number from the airline to Cara. Flight schedules can be forwarded at any time.

HOW DO I GET A QUOTE FOR MY ROOM?

• All quotes start with the reservation form. Fill out the reservation form and we will get back to you with a quote.
• In your reservation form, make sure to include the ROOM TYPE you want to book.

I AM SHARING A ROOM WITH ANOTHER INVITED GUEST. HOW DOES THAT WORK?

• Please coordinate with your roommate and designate ONE person to fill out the reservation form.
• Reservation forms should be one per ROOM, not one per person.
• If you and your roommate live at different addresses, please make sure to include the second passenger’s contact info. This can go in the notes field.
• If you would like separate invoices for each roommate, please include this in the comments section of your reservation form.
• When I get your form, I will email both of you and explain next steps.

IS THERE A DRESS CODE AT THE RESORT?

Download the Hyatt Inclusive Collection Hotels App to  review the restaurant dress codes while you're packing. You can also check out the hotel’s interactive map, make a spa reservation in advance and more via the app.
Download: App Store l Google Play

What about inclement weather?

Should a weather event impact a resort immediately preceding your trip, Bridie Travel would receive an inclement weather statement from the resort with details and options for impacted guests. If you are concerned about inclement weather impacting your trip please consider adding trip protection to your package.

TRAVEL INSURANCE FAQ

Travel insurance is HIGHLY recommended and protects you if you need to cancel your trip. Since all-inclusives are pre-paid, insurance protects your investment if you need to change your plans. Without travel insurance, there are no refunds for any reason.

Travel insurance includes more than just cancellation coverage… it includes post-departure coverage and medical coverage as well!

Did you know that most USA health insurances do NOT work in Mexico? If you need to see a doctor for an illness or a small mishap, you will be charged in cash upfront before a doctor will treat you. Insurance helps reimburse you for these unexpected costs.

Travel insurance is based on the cost of your room, your age, and the state in which you reside. At time of submitting your reservation request, Bridie Travel will provide you with a quote for a comprehensive travel insurance plan.

Your insurance quote will contain two options:
1. The Worldwide Trip Protector Platinum plan from Travel Insured (or similar) is a traditional policy which allows you to cancel for a covered reason (ie sickness, illness, death in family, etc). There are over 30 reasons for trip interruption/cancellation.

2. You can add a 'Cancel For Any Reason' election onto you Worldwide Trip Protector Platinum plan. This benefit gives you extra flexibility of knowing you can cancel your trip for almost any unforeseen reason that the Worldwide Trip Protector plan does not already cover at 100% and receive 75% of your non-refundable trip costs back. It includes benefits like trip cancellation protection, primary emergency medical benefits, 24-hour travel assistance, and more. This insurance must be added at the time of DEPOSIT.

If these plans are not eligible for sale in the state in which you reside, a similar quote & vendor will be offered.

I HAVE MORE QUESTIONS ABOUT BOOKING- HELP!

• No problem, feel free to contact Megan Amelio or Cara Arnett.
• Kindly note my business hours of 9a-5p central time, M-F. We typically respond to emails within 48 business hours.

Can I wear Indian attire if I'm not Indian?

Yes! You absolutely can wear Indian clothes for our wedding events, and we encourage it. If you’re interested in wearing Indian wear for our events, we created a guide (White Girl's Guide to Desi Wedding Wear) for non-Indian friends to help with selecting Indian styles. This guide also includes outfit suggestions for Western styles.

How many outfits do I need?

The minimum number of outfits you will need is two: one for the sangeet and one for the baraat/ceremony/reception. If you want to wear something different for the baraat/ceremony and the reception, then you will need three outfits. The bride and groom will be donning their party clothes for the reception to prepare for dancing the night away. You have the option to wear something more casual (and breezy) for the ceremony and change into something more festive for the evening.

Is there anything I should not wear?

We want our guests to be comfortable and wear what makes you feel best. Jeans, shorts, cargo pants, and camo print are discouraged for our sangeet and wedding day events.

Where should I shop for Indian styles?

Check out the FAQ section of our dress guide for suggestions on where and how to source Indian styles.

Flights

Closest airport to the resort is Cancun International Airport (CUN).

We recommend booking your flights as early as you can. You may book it via your favorite airline. Consider using miles or credit card points if you have them.

Tip: Track your flight using Google Flights to receive alerts for best pricing options!

It is not advised to fly to Cozumel (CZN) or Tulum (TQO) Airports as they are much further away and there will be an additional cost for the transfer.

IMPORTANT TO DO!
Submit your flight info to Bridie Travel no later than Wednesday, October 1, 2025.

After you book your flight you’ll need to submit your flight itinerary to us. We need this information to pass along to the transportation company to arrange your Cancun International Airport (CUN) arrival and departure transfers, in addition to keeping us notified of your arrival and departure for planning wedding events.

You can submit your flights one of two ways:

Travel insurance

PROTECT YOUR INVESTMENT. WITHOUT TRAVEL INSURANCE, ALL PAYMENTS ARE NONREFUNDABLE

We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to protect you before, during and after you travel. The travel insurance has coverage for medical, inclement weather, flight delays/cancellations/missed connections, baggage delays/cancellations, etc.

Bridie Travel uses Travel Insured. The Worldwide Trip Protector with Cancel For Any Reason gives you the extra flexibility of knowing you can cancel your trip for almost any unforeseen reason that the Worldwide Trip Protector plan does not already cover at 100% and receive 75% of your non-refundable trip cost back. It includes benefits like trip cancellation protection, primary emergency medical benefits, 24-hour travel assistance, and more. This plan also has smart benefits that can proactively pay your clients and simplify the claims process with no receipts required.

IMPORTANT: ‘Cancel For Any Reason’ MUST be purchased at the time of booking. You cannot add ‘Cancel For Any Reason’ after your initial deposit date. You can purchase regular travel insurance though after the deposit date.

The cost of the travel insurance is based on the total cost of your trip + your age (typically 6%-10% of the total cost of the trip). We will provide individual quotes with your invoice so you can determine if you want to add it or not. You will be required to accept or decline insurance coverage when you make your deposit.

For more information on Trip Protection please visit our website below.

Group Travel Info

PLEASE READ!

Rooms are reserved at a discounted rate, on a first-come, first served basis. Bridie Travel will do their best to honor the discounted rate outside the 50 rooms, however, the early-booking discount is not guaranteed. The sooner you reserve with your deposit, the better. The discounted rate is an ALL-INCLUSIVE room rate and includes private roundtrip airport transfers. Bridie Travel is confident in their pricing, but if you were to find a cheaper “deal” outside of Bridie Travel, please allow them an opportunity to price match. We like to do our best to keep family and friends consolidated at the resort for accountability. To reserve your room and apply your deposit, please Click the "Book My Room" Link Below! You will receive a reservation confirmation and invoice within 2-3 business days.

Portofino Roof

Sangeet

The sangeet is the evening of the second night and will be held at the Portofino Roof.

The sangeet is a pre-wedding party that brings all guests together to celebrate the wedding couple. It is a festive event featuring choreographed dances, songs, and speeches prepared by guests and family members. Performances are often done in groups, so you do not have to perform alone if you do not want to. During this event, guests can expect to enjoy food, entertainment, and dancing the night away.

We invite our guests to take part in this vibrant celebration. Performances can include traditional Indian or Western music and dance styles, or a hybrid of both. Performances and speeches can be as brief or long as you want (within reason).

If you are interested in doing a speech and/or performance, please let us know. If you would prefer to do it with a group or need help planning, we are happy to help connect guests that are interested.

Mehndi

The mehndi party is an ebullient pre-wedding fête that centers around the application of mehndi (also known as henna).  Traditionally, the bride has her hands and feet decorated with intricate designs whereas guests typically have smaller designs applied to their hands. The henna is rubbed off after it dries to reveal a temporary stain of the skin that lasts for several days to weeks.

For our event, we will have 2 henna artists for 2 hours for guests. Guest designs usually take about 5-7 minutes to complete.

Henna can stain clothing while it dries, so make sure to be mindful of the sleeve length so that it will not disturb the art while it dries.

Suggested Dress

This is the event to have the most fun with dressing up. It is meant to be flashy and performative. Choose outfits that feature some glitz and glam- beading, sequins, sparkles, bright colors, metallics, and jewel tones.

Women's Wear

Outfits: Lehengas, sharara and gharara suits, palazzo pants with coordinating top or choli, pant saree, anarkali dresses, and jumpsuits are great options. This is a good time to bust out your NYE sparkles if you would like to wear something that is already in your closet.

Shoes: Choose shoes that are easy to walk and dance in. Avoid stiletto heels as it can be hard to walk around the resort, and these can easily get caught on longer full skirts such as the lehenga. Shoes with block heels, wedges, and sandals are all good options.

Accessories: Statement necklaces and rings are perfect for bringing additional bling to your outfit. Be mindful of heavy earrings that may pull during dancing.

Men's Wear

This is your time to show off and show out. Kurtas with or without a nehru jacket in jewel tones or dramatic dark colors would capture the festive mood. Choose clothes with metallic embellishments, sequins, and beading to elevate the style. Accessorize with dupattas and pocket squares. Western suits in darker colors, brocade fabrics, or trousers with a button-down in a bold print would also make a statement. Pair with comfortable shoes to dance the night away in.

Beach Gazebo

Wedding Day Events

Baraat

The baraat is a joyous procession in Indian weddings during which the groom travels to the wedding venue accompanied by friends and family. The procession is characterized by high-energy music where guests dance and celebrate, building anticipation for the ceremony.

The meeting place and time is TBD.

Ceremony

The ceremony will take place at the beach gazebo.

Suggested Dress

The suggested dress is beach semi-formal. Since this takes place at the hottest time of day, light and breathable fabrics are essential.  Wear comfortable shoes for dancing in the baraat procession. Guests will be able to take shoes off before walking up to the beach, but you are not required to remove your shoes. If you are keeping your shoes on, make sure you can walk in sand easily.

Women's Wear

Outfits: Anarkali and kurta with loose pants (e.g. sharara, palazzo, or salwar) are a comfortable yet stylish option. Lehengas and saree are a classic choice. For Western style, consider long dresses, jumpsuits, and tops with maxi skirts. Pastels are a common color for wedding day celebrations. Neutrals or vibrant colors are appropriate too. Floral prints, fringe, and crochet are all great vibes for the beach ceremony.

Shoes: Block heels, wedges, and sandals

Accessories: Statement earrings and necklaces, bangles, payal

Men's Wear

Suit jackets and ties are not required. Short sleeve and long sleeve collared shirts with slacks or trousers are appropriate. Linen pants are a comfortable and stylish option. Kurtas are a great Indian-wear option because they often are made from lighter fabrics and can be paired with comfortable and breezy pants. They are the perfect choice for the baraat and ceremony and transition well to the reception.

Contoy Plaza

Reception

The reception will take place the evening of the ceremony in the Contoy Plaza.

Suggested Dress

An outfit change for the reception is not expected, but the bride and groom will be donning their party clothes in preparation of dancing the night away. You have the option to wear something more casual (and breezy) for the ceremony and change into something more festive for the evening. Suggested dress code is festive beach semi-formal.

Women's Wear

Outfits: Bring the party vibes. Sequins and metallics- go for it. Boho beach vibes- love it. Florals or fun prints- perfect. Lehengas, flowy pant suits (e.g. gharara, sharara, palazzo), jumpsuits, dresses (e.g. mini, midi, maxi), dress rompers, Indo-western are all great options.

Shoes: The venue has cobbled stones and may be incompatible with certain heels. Block heels, wedges, and sandals are all good options.

Accessories: Statement earrings and necklaces, bangles, payal, hair jewelry

Men's Wear

Leave the jackets and ties behind. Change into a short sleeve stylish button down and pair with breezy pants. If you went with a kurta for the daytime events, feel free to wear it to the reception- just make sure your shoes are dance-floor compatible. If you haven’t tried a desi style yet, kurtas are the perfect vibe for the reception party.
