Weather

What to Expect

The weather in Santiago is gorgeous in October! You can expect sunny days with temperatures in the upper-80's to low-90's with low humidity. Overnight temperatures in the mid-50's to mid-60's.

Transportation

Uber / Taxis

Uber is the best way to get around the greater Monterrey metro area. The same Uber app you use in the USA will work in Mexico, but the fares will be displayed in Pesos. It is also really nice that you do not need to be able to verbally communicate your destination to your driver as it will show up on his Uber app.

If you want to live life on the edge, there are lots of taxis in Monterrey as well. However, it can be more difficult to communicate your desired destination and there is a greater chance that you will take the extended scenic route.

We may charter vans for transportation to specific events and for airport pickup/drop-off. We'll keep you updated as we get closer!

Lodging

Where to Stay

There are lots of lodging options in the Santiago/Monterrey area. From staples like the Holiday Inn or the Fiesta Inn to quaint local hotels such as the Posada de Colores or Las Palomas. Or maybe you would enjoy beautiful mountain views and onsite dining at Hotel Hacienda Cola de Caballo.

Check out the Hotels tab for more information!

Currency

While most businesses in Santiago and Monterrey will accept all major credit cards (Visa/MC/etc.), it is a great idea to carry some local currency for tipping or to buy a tasty snack from the paletero.

The best place to exchange currency is at the airport, but you can also withdraw cash from local ATM's.
