How We Met

Our journey began when we crossed paths at a Devil Makes Three show in March of 2013 at Freebird Live in Jacksonville Beach.

It was Brandon's crazy dancing feet that caught my attention as we locked eyes and he got a hold of me to dance the last song of the night " Old No. 7".   Little did we know that night would kick off a new chapter in our lives as we grew together.  It's been 6 years of spontaneous adventures,  trips around the world and countless nights of jamming out to our favorite bands with our dear friends.

When we are together, there is never dull moment; through thick and thin we've come along way shaping one another to who we are today.  It took the good and the hard times to realize how much we loved one another and that simply put life was better when we were together.

The Proposal

On July 4th, 2017, under the Nauyaca waterfalls in Costa Rica, Brandon asked me to marry him.  Surprised, speechless, anxious... I can't really describe the excitement, the thrill of that moment.

As we hiked up to the waterfalls that morning, Brandon was unusually quiet and walking a little funny.

At first, I disregarded his odd demeanor, assuming he was still waking up after a long night of whiskey and mojitos. Then, I noticed he was walking funny, constantly touching the back of his pants.

I asked Brandon "What’s up, why so quiet today....you’re walking funny...do you have a wedgie to pick or something?".

Little did I know Brandon was contemplating how he would ask me to marry him, and taking in the power that question would forever have on our future.  Excited and nervous, he kept checking his back pocket to make sure the ring had not fallen out.

When we came up on the waterfalls, they were enormous, so much bigger than either one of us imagined and just beautiful.  I started to climb on the rocks to get close for a picture.  Brandon kept yelling "Hey, turn around, stop, stop right there for a picture, TURN AROUND!".  When I finally listened and turned, there he stood.  With the sweetest kind eyes, nervous and excited, he asked "Will you marry me?".

I was speechless and Brandon filled the void in the air by explaining he wanted to surprise me and knew how much I LOVE Costa Rica. How he asked my dad for permission before the trip and how he made sure my mom was there to be part of the moment because he knew how much that would mean to me.

I burst into tears before I could reply because everything he said was true. He knew me so well and he had done everything I could have ever dreamed of to make that moment perfect. He went on to promise that if I married him, his priority above all would be to make me the happiest woman every day of my life.

I said "YES"
