Soooooo, I met a guy back in 1996.... I was in Beta Club Honor Society and part of my service was to provide tutoring to athletes. One of my regulars was Donald "Hulk" Cousizan. 20 years later he tells me that he made sure that I was his tutor because he knew I was smart and he would pass. Throughout the years he'd check in every now and then to see how I was doing. One day he asked my bestie if I was dating anyone and she said "I was single like a dollar bill..." She was supposed to ask me how to respond first, right?!?! Then, he went for it! I didn't really take him serious 'cause there was so much distance between us since I lived in Houston and he was in Slidell. BUT, surprisingly he moved mountains to make it work. Every visit I fell a little harder.... It came at a time that I least expected (they say that's how it happens). Before I knew it, i was missing him like crazy and feeling incomplete when he wasn't around. My life has been filled with an abundance of highs and quite a few lows, but there has always been something missing. I'd worked extremely hard and placed myself on a pedestal. When the right man placed me higher and kept me there I realized I didn't have to do it all by myself and it felt amazing. I NEVER saw him coming, but thank God every day that he is here. I always said I'd never get married because of statistics and mindsets.... Donald knew how I felt and still proposed. Soooooo, we're rollin' 'til the wheels fall off!
