How We Met

As all of you know, David and I met in March of 2020 during the COVID pandemic. After a few weeks of chatting on the phone, our first date was taking a walk through the park near my apartment in Dallas.

Blake: I was waiting outside in the park and I saw David pull up in his massive truck ( you know I'm a sucker for a good truck;) He walked out with a backwards baseball hat and I nearly swooned;) After our walk, he walked me back to my car and gave me red roses and my favorite bottle of Caymus Pinot Noir. I knew David was special so I saved the flowers he gave me, and they now hang up in our house! Since our first date, David has been nothing but the perfect gentleman; thoughtful, kind, and never forgets to open my door;) I can't wait to marry the man of my dreams.

Engagement

David: After we started dating I realized pretty quick that Blake was different. I’ve never met a more amazing person. 3-4 months into dating I knew this was the person I wanted to spend my life with.

The fact I managed to practice patience an entire year before proposing is surprising. I knew she was the one! I made sure to find her the most perfect diamond engagement ring and booked a trip to Puerto Rico. I’ve never kept such a close eye on carry on luggage, where I had the ring tucked away and out of her sight.

We got to the resort where we were staying and the bellhop snatched all of our luggage including my precious carry on. I had failed my mission. The ring was gone, luckily all luggage made it back to the room and the hidden ring remained hidden.

The evening I asked her to be my bride, we were elated. That evening on the beach in Puerto Rico, just her and I, was the best night of my life. That is until 8/28/2022!
