Hamid had just driven across country from Los Angeles to begin a new life in New Jersey. Bindi had just moved back from California herself. His new apartment happened to face hers, and from smiles, waves, movie night invitations shouted across the balcony, and endless studying together, a friendship had begun.

For their medical school Diwali festival, they happened to be paired as dancing partners. Bindi had to let go of her fears of being dropped on her head, and Hamid made sure that she never fell!

Bindi and Hamid were lucky to couples match together at Rutgers-RWJ where they would begin their residencies in Neurology and Emergency Medicine. When they weren't home with their cats, Mango and Mushu, they were running neurological emergencies together at the hospital.

While we love our work, it kept us busy and we rarely had time off together during our second year of residency. Which is what made our weekend trip to Montreal so special. Oh, and also the fact that Hamid had planned his proposal to Bindi during this trip!

We're so excited to share our special day with all of you! Whether we celebrate in person safely and socially distant or physically apart, love endures in the time of COVID.
