Welcome

Leave the busy week behind and kick off the weekend's festivities! Whether you are flying in or driving straight over at the end of your work day, this is an informal event where you can meet one another, enjoy some Indian food, get some henna (if you feel so inclined), and have some unstructured fun before the big event on Saturday.

(Light dinner and drinks will be provided.)

GUESTS

While our wedding on Saturday is adults only, please feel free to bring your little ones with you to this welcome party on Friday evening.

RSVP

To make sure we have enough food for everyone, we'd love to know if you (and your little ones) will be attending. Please RSVP through this site (link below) by Friday, August 27, 2021. Thank you!

SAFETY FIRST

Like our wedding ceremony and reception on Saturday, the welcome party on Friday will take place outdoors. According to CDC guidance, this means the party should pose low risk of COVID transmission. However, we can never be too safe, so we respectfully request that all unvaccinated guests wear a mask.

Festive Casual Attire

Given that this party is happening at the end of a weekday and in a park, we invite you to dress casually (in clothes you would wear to a picnic or dinner in a friend's backyard). If you feel like dressing up, we recommend festive casual (think summer dresses, slacks, short-sleeved button-ups, etc.). Above all, dress for comfort (including your footwear). While we will be under a pavilion and there are plenty of trees around, given the time of year in Southern California, it may still be warm.

Safety First

Given that our ceremony and reception will both take place outdoors, CDC guidance tells us that our wedding should pose low risk of COVID transmission. However, we can never be too safe, so we respectfully request that all unvaccinated and high-risk guests wear a mask.

Attire: Traditional / Festive Formal

Our wedding ceremony and reception will be a colorful celebration of Indian traditions. We encourage all our guests to wear Indian attire, but festive Western suits and dresses are also welcome.

Ladies, feel free to choose from traditional sarees/saris, chaniya cholis, lehengas, or contemporary Indian dresses. Gents, you have a range of choices from traditional sherwanis or kurtas to Jodhpuri suits and suits with a Nehru collar.

And if all of that seems too far outside your comfort zone, you could opt for a Westernized version of any of those styles or go fully Western, wearing a suit or formal (knee-length or below) dress in festive colors (try to avoid wearing white or solid black).

NOTE: both the ceremony and reception will take place outside on the beautiful Quail Ranch residential property, so please choose your footwear accordingly (wedges for ladies are recommended). Also, given the location and time of year, it will be rather warm.
