. . .
On the morning of July 6, 2019, soon after arriving to the magnificent Hotel Baglioni with Bella's side of the family--minus her mom--in Florence, Italy, Ryan took Bella by the hand, and they snuck off to the rooftop terrace of the hotel. Upon the grand elevators doors opening, they were met with stunning panoramic views of the historic Tuscan city. While Bella was fully distracted by the beautiful view of the city she once called home, Ryan was trying to conceal his panic when one of the gates to access a higher level of the rooftop--where he planned on proposing--was locked, but he managed to keep his cool and casually asked a member of the hotel staff to unlock the gate for them. Once Ryan and Bella were in the hidden photographer's line of sight on the higher level of the terrace, and Ryan realized it was time, Ryan shakily started muttering Bella's name to get her attention, but of course, she was to busy yapping away and pointing out different landmarks to notice the first few mutters. Bella quickly realized something was happening when Ryan sounded like a broken record machine spewing the same words over and over again. Sensing something was happening, Bella began chuckling nervously not knowing what was going on, until Ryan finally surrendered to his nerves by ditching most of the speech he had prepared and simply got down on one knee and asked Bella if she would marry him. Through the uncontrollable nervous laughter and tears of joyous disbelief, Bella managed to squeal, "Yes!" Overwhelmed with love and emotion, the newly engaged couple then took a moment to enjoy the dreamy spread of Champagne, bite-sized Italian cookies and stunning red roses Ryan had arranged, before meeting up with the rest of Bella's family for yet another surprise. Ryan then escorted Bella to an exquisite wine-pairing lunch at the historic Cantinetta Antinori. Upon arrival, Bella immediately spotted her dad and cried out, "Pipes!" as she ran up and fully embraced him with endless tears of joy. She turned to receive the rest of the family but completely lost it as soon as she spotted her mom and Ryan's mom--who Bella thought were back in the U.S. Bella and Ryan could not have been happier to celebrate this joyous occasion with the people they love the most.
It's no secret that Ryan and Bella met on a dating app called Bumble, but their story only gets more interesting from there. After exchanging phone numbers, Ryan and Bella quickly discovered they had some uncanny coincidences that made them believe they were brought together by nothing other than fate. Not only was Ryan from Camden, Arkansas, where Bella's step-mom, Sarah, grew up, but his family and Sarah's family go way back. Ryan's dad had been capturing the Reynold's family photos since the 1970's. Her step-grandparents even went to school with the late John Miller. It gets crazier. Ryan himself took pictures of Bella's step-siblings, Yancey and Hunter, right about the time Bella's dad and Sarah got together in 2009. With all these coincidences, plus more not mentioned, Bella and Ryan felt compelled to meet each other in person, so they meet up at the Library Bar in Downtown Los Angeles on Labor Day weekend, September 3, 2017. The rest, as they say, is history!
