- Leonardo da Vinci Museum - Vinci, the town that Leonardo came from is about 45 mins from the Borgo and there's a highly rated museum there:

- Vespa scooters, quintessentially Italian, hail from Pontedera, about 20 mins from the Borgo. There's a museum to explore all!

- Who doesn't love a bit of Chocolate! Amedei Chocolate factory is not far. Not sure if it's open in Aug (as many are on hols), but fingers crossed!

Tips for your travels

Some tips for your travels

- We'd recommend always having some cash as they don't accept tips on card

- If you're flying into Pisa airport, there is a train that takes you into the city from the airport for 5 Euro and if you're heading on to Florence, you can catch the train from there.

- Pisa airport is not far from the city so you can always grab a taxi too, we took one from near the leaning tower to the airport and it was around 12 Euros.

- Pisa train station is about 20 mins walk from the leaning tower, the train station isn't central to where the tower is

- The train from Pisa to Florence takes only about an hour and it's not expensive, around 9 Euros! Tickets can be booked here:
