In 2016, I found myself on a dating app called, Tinder. When I saw John's profile, I thought there was no way we'd get along! He was this seemly super clean cut guy, and here I was in the process of getting my forth tattoo, an entire sleeve none-the-less! It also didn't help that all of his best friends had "J" names - I mean come on! That aside, I showed up to our coffee date and was gob-smacked by how handsome he was. I was so into the date, I let him buy me lunch too ;)

Swiping through Tinder Christmas Day 2016, I matched with the cutest girl I've ever seen. She, for some reason, agreed to go out to coffee with me the very next day, and a coffee date turned into a lunch date, as well. She would later tell me she thought we were too quite on our first date and that we might not work out, but we both could not stop seeing each other. We grew to be best friends in love with each other and I couldn't imagine life any other way.

Our journey has taken us from the summits of the Rocky Mountains to the polar cold of Quebec, Canada and many stops in-between. One of our favorite memories was attempting to ski at the Centre De Ski Le Relais. While John was an absolute pro, I found it much easier to brake by running into objects! I much preferred recording and cheering him on, sitting by the fire, and watching ice crystals form on his beard.

In the fall of 2021 we were presented with an opportunity that was both exciting and uncertain: leaving our hometown of St. Louis for a new start in Richmond. We decided to take our chances, and within two weeks we were packed up and ready to move halfway across the country. With U-Haul trailer in tow, our little Honda CR-V made the three day trek across plains and mountains (not without a pit-stop for a new tire along the way). We arrived at our new apartment and were met with less than ideal living conditions. Once panic had subsided, we found a nice hotel room and ended up living in it for our first week in our new city. We finally found a suitable place to call home and have settled in nicely. While the move was definitely not without it's challenges, we were able to lean on each other and push each other to continue on. We can't wait to see where life takes us next!
