Only 2% of children who started school together in Grade 1 finished matric in 2019 with a solid understanding of mathematics and the skills required to access tertiary studies in maths and sciences.
Our approach solves the problem by focusing on grade 7 learners through running after-school maths classes and preservice teachers through a year long teaching internship.

Provides an opportunity to young women and girls to take up leadership positions within their communities, schools, universities and workplaces.
We deliberately opted to pilot the mentoring program at one institution – the University of Johannesburg – to establish the interest and uptake amongst young South African women. Fifty-nine (59) Mentees attended that first cohort, supported by 32 Mentors, that showed resounding interest in the program.
