Since you’re in town, take another few days or so to explore!
Since you’re in town, take another few days or so to explore!
You first time in Central Vietnam?

Here’s a quick guide!

Danang
Featuring a central location along the coast of Vietnam, Danang is a remarkable destination and the third largest city in the country. Danang is known for its seaside scenery and ancient history. Hike among the Marble Mountains, five hills that hold Buddhist temples and caves. Stroll the old quarter of Hoi An, a heritage trading port town, and browse its charming art galleries and boutiques. Visit the Cham Museum for a glimpse of the largest Cham art collection in the world. Danang also offers up championship golf and thrilling diving. You will be charmed by the enduring traditions and contemporary luxuries of beautiful Danang.

Hội An
Graceful, historic Hoi An is Vietnam’s most atmospheric and delightful town. Once a major port, it boasts the grand architecture and beguiling riverside setting that befits its heritage, and the 21st-century curses of traffic and pollution are almost entirely absent. Hoi An offers a very peaceful setting, making it a popular holiday spot for travellers who want a relaxing vacation in Vietnam. Sightseeing options include old-town architecture, Buddhist shrines, French colonial houses, art galleries and old canals. The town centre is small enough to get around on foot, and the traffic is nowhere near as stress-inducing as it is in cities like Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh. We do recommend staying a day or two in Hoi An to truly explore the amazing ancient town.

Our Recommendations

Ba Na Hill - Danang's breathtaking hidden playground
At the height of 1,487 m from the sea level, Ba Na Hills is coined the “heaven on earth” owing to its spectacular climate and otherworldly natural landscape. This is our recommendation for the best cure to urban fatigue. Esecape the urban sprawl and head out into the fresh, clean atmosphere of the mountains! We recommend getting a day trip for this, and you get your tickets from Klook. From there, head over to the Ba Na Hills cable car station where you'll ascend one of the world's longest and highest cable car rides, giving you panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. At the station, you'll get to see the Linh Ung Pagoda, Loc Uyen Garden and Quan Am Pavilion. Next stop is Debay Station where you can head into Fantasy Park for a fun-filled morning of games and exploration. Explore the Monkey garden and finally to God Mountain, the highest peak in central Vietnam, before returning to Da Nang

Address: Hoà Phú, Hòa Vang, Da Nang, Vietnam
Opening hours: 7.30am - 9pm

Our favourite seafood restaurant! - (Hải sản Bé Mặn)
Be Man is a local seafood restaurant in Da Nang City which serves fresh seafood at affordable price and open atmosphere. This Seafood Restaurant is a well known restaurant to many gourmets for a long time, specializing in seafood such as crab, oyster porridge, shrimp. (Our personal favourites are the clams and flower crabs) Be warned! The crowd is really crazy, and ordering for the first time can be intimidating; just grab the seafood you like from the open tanks, speak to a staff and inform your table number and how you want to have it cooked!

Name: Quan Be Man (Hải sản Bé Mặn)
Opening hours: 10 am – 11 pm
Address: Lô 11 Võ Nguyên Giáp, Mân Thái, Sơn Trà, Đà Nẵng, Vietnam

GETTING AROUND IN DA NANG & HỘI AN

Grab/Local Taxis

It is fairly easy to get a GrabCar (and even the everso famous GrabBike) anywhere in Da Nang and Hội An. This will save you a bit of money compared to a taxi. You just need to get the app ready for your smartphone before your travels.

Alternatively, you can book a taxi for a day by calling the different operators:

1. Mai Linh Taxi (green taxi with Mai Linh Group logo): +84 511 352 5252
2. Vinasun Taxi (white taxi with Vinasun Taxi logo): +84 511 368 6868
3. Tien Sa Taxi (yellow taxi with Taxi Tien Sa logo): +84 511 379 7979

Lastly, there's always buses and motorcycle rentals for you, so enjoy the city!

Useful Informations

Passport & Visa Requirements
Depending on your nationality - you may be required for visa to Vietnam. Please check with your respective consulate on this. As per all travel visas, you will need one clear page (per visa) in a full passport that is valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of your departure from Vietnam.

Currency Exchange
As currency exchange rates in Vietnam fluctuate, we suggest you refer online on the best available rates. For our friends and families in Singapore, the typical exchange for every S$1 = VND16500 to VND17200. There are many ATM machines that accept both Visa and Mastercard, but these are limited to the cities. Major credit cards are accepted in most shops, but they may charge a 2–4% transaction fee.

Tipping
No tipping in Vietnam!

Electric
In Vietnam the standard voltage is 220V. The standard frequency is 50 Hz. The power sockets that are used are of type A / C / G. (These are your two pin plugs.)
