I'd seen Atinuke a few times before, but we didn't speak until she joined the choir in 2018. I heard her sing and noticed she sounded nervous, so that night I messaged her on Instagram. We ended up talking for hours about the choir and our passion for singing. This sparked a series of long conversations and texts, and we quickly became close friends, caring deeply for one another. Over time, our friendship evolved into something more, although it took us both a while to acknowledge it, Eventually, I recognized my feelings, and with faith in God’s guidance, I knew I was making the right decision. Atinuke has been the greatest blessing in my life; she stood by me when I had nothing. Choosing to make her my wife stems from the immense love and respect I have for this incredible woman
I knew of Toba through mutual friends and I occasionally saw him at church but we officially met the day I joined the choir. The night I auditioned he reached out to me on instagram which sparked the beginning of our friendship. After that night we spoke every day and got so close people thought we were dating. I remember getting so irritated whenever people assumed we liked each other I’d say “don’t block my blessing, I don’t want my future husband to hear you & think I’m taken”. It’s like they could see into the future because about a year into our friendship I started developing feelings. Me being me, I ignored it and pushed my feelings aside until I couldn’t anymore, I made the first move and told him how I felt. It’s funny how life works, the man I swore was just a friend became the love of my life. God couldn’t have created a better husband for me. I cannot wait to be his wife and spend the rest of my life with him.
