Things to Do
Camelback Mountain (Echo Canyon)
This is a difficult hike. Ashley almost called off the engagement halfway through the hike, but luckily reconsidered after we returned to safer elevations.
Piestewa Peak

The infamous Piestewa Peak Summit Trail is an out and back trail that rewards successful hikers with a three-hundred-sixty-degree view of the Phoenix metropolitan area. While short in length, a little over one mile, the trail is steep, jagged, and consists of multiple switchbacks and modified steps with integrated sections of gravel and rock.
Pinnacle Peak
The 150–acre Pinnacle Peak Park is the most popular hiking destination in the valley because of the expansive, spectacular views and accessibility. Pinnacle Peak is a distinctive granite summit that rises 600 feet from the desert floor and can be seen from much of the Valley.

The park's central feature is the Grand Canyon, a gorge of the Colorado River, which is often considered one of the Wonders of the World. This year is also the 100th anniversary celebration of the Grand Canyon since its designation as a national park.
