For folks travelling from California you can book a direct flight to Dublin. Aer Lingus offer daily flights from San Francisco to Dublin (flight duration is around 10 hours).
Another great tool for sourcing flights is Google Flights where you can see an overview of other airlines and plan any post wedding travel.
When you land in Dublin we'd suggest that you stay in and around Dublin City Center.
If you would prefer to stay in one of the sea side villages around Dublin, Howth or Malahide are great options as well. Both run along the local train line, so you can easily get around Dublin.
Eoin and Ashley will be running a bus from Dublin to Waterford on June 7. This bus will also take you back to Dublin on June 10th.
The bus will leave Dublin (location TBD but will be somewhere easily accessible) around 12pm on the 7th and will leave Waterford to return to Dublin around 12pm on the 10th.
If you prefer to rent a car and drive there are multiple rental options at Dublin airport. The drive from Dublin to Waterford is roughly 1 hour 45 mins and is mostly highway so very straightforward.
All 3 days are onsite at Waterford Castle Island so you won't need to worry about transport or getting around.
Pretty much every European destination is accessible from Dublin so you'll have plenty of choice. The likes of London, Edinburgh, Amsterdam, Rome, Barcelona, Paris, Brussels, and Berlin are easily accessible and just a short flight away.
For the best availability and lowest fares Ryanair are the main airline in Europe but many major airlines fly all over Europe from Dublin so it's worth shopping around.
We would also encourage you to book any additional travel early as flight prices will only increase as we get closer to the summer months.
