It was 7 years ago when I first laid eyes on the most coveted girl on campus. Everyone knew who she was, but I had never seen her before myself until that moment. I had always dreamt of seeing her once more, but years passed without a sight. Little did I know, her eyes had also fallen upon me one time in a pre-med lecture hall. We were drawn together, independently, years before we finally met in person in microbiology lab.
As I have been known to, I showed up to lab late and unprepared. Unknowingly what awaited me, I snuck into lab and sat into the last open seat towards the back. I look up and lo and behold, the girl of my dreams was sitting across from me! She smiled at me with her big, beautiful brown eyes and time stood still. From that moment on, we shared countless jokes and endless banter, always making each other smile and laugh. I was no longer chronically tardy and I started arriving 15 min early for class just so I could see her a little longer. Our lab partnership grew into a friendship and our group assignments turned into study dates. Our lives had become intertwined in a web of fate.
At the end of the semester, we realized it wasn't the end. We knew we couldn't say goodbye. I knew I couldn't let her leave forever; so, I took the biggest leap of faith and asked her if she’d give me the chance to make her fall in love with me. I always knew she was the woman of my dreams years before, but I could never believe she would become the woman of my life. And here we are now, about to be married and surrounded by the happiness and blessings of our parents, family, and friends!
