Quail Lodge Resort & Golf Club

Hiking and Beaches
The Monterey and Carmel coastline is stunning! You can access many of California's most famous beaches, parks and natural landscapes within a short drive:
Big Sur -- for the truly adventurous, it's about a 45 minute drive from Carmel but has some of the most stunning views in California. We highly recommend going or at least making the drive down the Pacific Coast Highway!
Carmel Beach -- walking distance from Carmel-by-the-Sea and has great sunsets
Point Lobos Natural Reserve -- can often spot seals sunbathing!
Garrapata State Park -- offers coastal and inland trails and is often less crowded than its neighbors
Lovers Point Park -- for those staying in Monterey, an easy stroll with lovely Monterey Bay views
Monterey and Carmel have a fantastic variety of cafes, restaurants, boutique shops and more. Here are a few of our favorites:
Ocean Ave -- the "main drag" of Carmel-by-the-Sea, this street has dozens of small eateries, bakeries, dessert shops, apparel and home goods stores, and other diversions. Don't miss our favorite restaurant in Carmel -- Dametra Cafe -- for some terrific Greek and Mediterranean cuisine!
Cannery Row -- Monterey's old fish canning district has been converted into a walkable street full of bars, restaurants and shops. Famous for author John Steinbeck's residency. A bit on the touristy side, but worth a stroll!
The Lodge at Pebble Beach and the Links at Spanish Bay -- sitting adjacent to the golf courses are fantastic lunch and cocktail spots at these two world-class destinations. Cozy up to a firepit with your drink of choice and watch the golfers, the sunset, or the waves crash on the shore.
Nepenthe -- located on a dramatic cliffside in Big Sur, this restaurant offers full-service lunch, dinner and drinks, to accompany breathtaking views of the forests and Pacific Ocean. We'd suggest going off-hours as the line to get in can get a bit crazy, especially during warm weather!
