Flights

Merida International Airport (MID)

Merida, Yucatan, Mexico

This is the nearest airport to the venue and hotel. We HIGHLY recommend flying directly into this airport.

American Airlines has a direct flight from Miami, FL (seasonally through Dallas, TX).

United Airlines has a direct flight into  Merida from Houston, TX.

Please keep in mind that customs ONLY allows you to bring ONE laptop per family (NOT per person). If you do, they charge you 19%  of the price of your extra laptop. We recommend that if you are bringing more than one laptop per family, fill out your customs form individually (Not as a family).

Cancun International Airport (CUN)

This airport is approximately 4 hours away from Merida. For this reason, we DON'T recommend flying into this airport. However, there will be many more direct flights to Cancun Airport from all over the world, thus there may be more deals to Cancun. If you do choose to fly into Cancun, we recommend reviewing this guide for your different options getting to Merida.

We have personally taken the ADO bus from Merida to Cancun and it was very comfortable!

Other Accommodations Tips

Merida was recently listed as one of the safest cities in Mexico and all of North America and has a plethora of other options to consider including other reputable Hotels, popular Airbnbs, and VRBOS.

We recommend any guest attending to book accommodations in the Center (Centro) to northern part of the city center to be closest to the venue and any other events we may have prior to or post-ceremony (Stay tuned :) ).

The Paseo de Montejo is lovely and walking distance to many shops, restaurants, and museums so anything close to this area is highly recommended.

The Centro area will be close to the mercados that Merida has to offer as well as the "Plaza Grande" which is located in front of the Merida's famous cathedral and many other shops, vendors, and street food.

Transportation

Taxis/Ubers

Merida is the safest city in Mexico! And taking Ubers throughout the city is very common and affordable.

Taxis are easiest to take from the airport because Ubers are not allowed to pick up directly from the airport.

A taxi from the airport to the center of the city will be approximately 20 mins.

Please note that it is common for people pay in cash (Mexican pesos) for their Ubers. There is an option to pay in cash on the Uber app when booking your ride.
