Where it all began...

As most love stories would play out…

Our journey began on a random Wednesday night in the romantic setting of the Jolly Roger in Johannesburg.

"Hopeless romantics" was the theme, dingy smoky bar was the scene.

We couldn’t have asked for a anything better and so unexpected...

A crazy little thing called love

And to the best of our knowledge, below is how the magic started on that evening:

• Boy meets girl.
• After the girl walks passed boy as he is leaving, girl pulls boy to stand back to back with her brother.
• Girl says to the boy that he loses, due to being shorter than brother and gives boy her brothers' beer.
• Boy is somewhat nervous and confused with this unexpected beer. He feels that he best say thank you to the girl for the drink.
• Girl says pleasure and carries on with her evening…
• Boy sees girl dancing on dodgy Roger dance floor, and with eyes locked, boy asks girl to dance.
• Girl accepts boy’s invitation.
• With an evening of dancing and chatting on the dance floor.
• Boy and girl are having such unexpected fun.
• Both sense things are going very well.
• Boy waits for the right moment to kiss girl.

And as the clock struck 12.
• Boy kisses Girl.

What a great night, and one that will be imprinted in our memories forever.

Over the next couple months, we spent a lot of our time getting to know one another with unexpected adventures and travels.
We both felt very strongly towards one another, and quickly realised this could be the beginning of something incredibly special.

Bokke, Sunscreen & Birding

Nic introduced Angie to the wonderful of world of:

The Proteas, Springboks, Trance music, Birding, And most importantly………. good time management

Whilst Angie on the other hand introduced Nic to sunscreen, and everything else that people would generally consider important in life.

During this time in our special journey we have had the privilege to meet and get to know each other’s family and friends, who are now an incredibly important part of our lives.

Our relationship has grown from strength to strength and there was only one thing left to do...

The BIG proposal

It was a drizzly morning in Magoebaskloof…

Above the peaceful town of Haenertsburg, Nic got on one knee, presented a ring and asked Angela to marry him.

With tears in her eyes, she smiled, turned to Nic and said:

NO, NONONONO - I MEAN YES!!!! It is fair to say she was taken aback by it all, and was so overwhelmed in that memorable moment, however, she said YES!!!!!

We are so looking forward to our wedding day, and can’t wait to start this next chapter of our journey and continued adventures with one another.

We are so appreciative and thankful for all we have and everyone that has been a part of our journey.  It is without a doubt fair to say that our story wouldn’t be the same without you all.

We are excited for the future and all it will bring, and look forward to sharing our Big Day with you all.

All Our Love,

Nic and Angie.

P.S. The clock above the bar in the Jolly Roger is broken – we will never know the time when we first kissed.
