St. John

After considering our options, we have decided to stay the course and celebrate our wedding in St. John on June 25, 2021! For those of you who are vaccinated/will be vaccinated by June or are healthy and comfortable traveling, we would love to celebrate with you!

St. John and airlines are requiring a negative COVID-19 test within 5 days of travel (even if you’ve been vaccinated). All travelers will need to complete the U.S. Virgin Islands Travel Screening Portal before traveling to St. John. We are working with our Wedding Planner Michelle Cawthron and the Department of Health in St. John to follow COVID guidelines and make the celebration as safe as possible. We will be in touch as we get closer to the date with more details.

To assist you in planning your trip we have updated the accommodations section of the website. We encourage you to book as soon as possible (The Westin, The Hills Saint John and Island Abodes are completely booked the week of June 22-29).

Airlines have continued to update their change fee and cancellation/refund policies as the pandemic has evolved. Click here to for the policies as of 3/14/21 - please click the links to the airline websites for the latest information.

In general, travel that you book now with most airlines can be changed with no change fees in all but the lowest fare class (Blue Basic on JetBlue, Basic Economy on others). Credits generally are good for a year from the original travel date.

If you booked and canceled flights last year, don’t forget to check on your travel bank. Airlines were offering 12-24 months to use those travel credits.

Guests should plan to fly into the St. Thomas Airport (US Virgin Islands) Cyril E. King Airport (STT) located at Airport Rd, Charlotte Amalie West, St Thomas 00802, USVI.

Unfortunately, there are no direct flights from Boston to St. Thomas in the month of June. Guests are finding flights with layovers in Charlotte, NC, Atlanta, GA and San Juan, PR. Typical round trip flights from Boston to St. Thomas are $500-$550.

The Red Hook Ferry runs frequently throughout the day. Ferry tickets will be purchased at the terminal. Click here for ferry information (including the schedule). Estimated time on the ferry from Red Hook (St. Thomas) to Cruz Bay (St. John) is 35 minutes. The cost is $6 per person.

For those of you staying at the Westin, there is a round trip ferry offered for $125 per guest. The water taxi will pick you up at the airport and deliver you directly to the Westin. Click here for more information.

Taxis are available on St. John, but we suggest renting a car to explore all the island has to offer!
