Wes and Alex grew up in the Bradenton area and went to Manatee High School. She was class of 2007, and he was class of 2011. After college Wes and Alex's friend groups became intertwined, and they began hanging out together. Alex had no idea, but Wes always had a huge crush on her. Over the years, they dated other people but remained in the same circle. One day Wes caught Alex's attention when she saw a cute photo of him wearing a giant smile and a bird on his shoulder. She began crushing on him. A few months later, at Decoy Ducks bar, they ran into each other, and Alex asked Wes if he was single. Wes then asked Alex on a date. Two months later, they moved in together; the rest is history.
