Transportation

Flights

List of airports that provide nonstop flights to Bermuda.

Bus

A bus stop is recognized by the pink or blue pole which shows the direction that the bus will be headed. Pink poles mean that the bus will be travelling toward the City of Hamilton and blue poles mean that the bus will be travelling away from the City of Hamilton.

Note: The bus system in Bermuda is not fully accessible.

Cabs

All taxis are metered at government-set rates, and EXACT change is required unless you have a Transportation Pass. (They Do NOT Accept Credit Cards! Cash Only). Current taxi fares are as follows, based on travel between 6 am and midnight:

For a 1- to 4-passenger taxi: $7.90 USD for the first mile, $2.75 USD for each additional mile
For a 5- to 7-passenger taxi: $9.95 USD for the first mile, $3.50 USD for each additional mile
Fares are 25 percent higher for 1- to 4-passenger taxis, and 50 percent higher for 5- to 7-passenger taxis, between midnight and 6 am, all day on Sunday and on public holidays.

Note:  Taxis in Bermuda aren't cheap. Unless you book a shuttle transfer, taxis are the best option for traveling to and from the Airport, and also in the nighttime when other public transports like buses and ferries cease to operate or their service get reduced.

HITCH fares include gratuities & credit card charges.

You must first download the app and enter your credit card information to use this service.

Regular Taxi

BASE FARE: $5.92 | EACH MILE: $3.16 | WAIT TIME: $0.63

Twizy - Electric Car Rental

Bermuda's only car rental for tourists.  It is an electric 2 seated car.

Scooters

Well, if you are comfortable with a scooter or a moped, this will give you all the freedom and flexibility in this island. You won't have to wait for the crowded buses. Since you can’t rent a car here, scooter rentals largely fulfill that gap. However, Bermuda roads are quite narrow and winding, and at times can be quite steep. So you need to be careful.

If you are not used to British way of left hand drive (i.e. driving along the left side of the road), then better watch out. The right side is the wrong side. The left side is the right side here. The usual speed limit is 35km (i.e. 23 miles) per hour, but locals tend to ignore this. You will also find that hooting horns is quite common in Bermuda which may sometime distract you. Consider all this while renting a scooter in Bermuda. If you are not comfortable, then don't rent one.

Beaches

Jobson's Cove Beach

Jobsons Cove is a beautiful and secluded small beach surrounded by cliffs all around and is completely separated from the sea. The beach is on the south shore, located in Bermuda's Warwick parish and adjacent to Warwick long Bay. The beach is named after William Jobson who was an early settler of 17th century and owned this area.

Horseshoe Bay Cove

Located on Bermuda's South Shore, Horseshoe Bay is easy to access via public transportation: just take the #7 bus from the City of Hamilton or the Royal Naval Dockyard.

Tobacco Bay

Tobacco Bay beach is located in Bermuda's St. George's parish and is one of the most popular beaches in the island. Locals say that the beach was so named because tobacco was found growing here many years back. This beach is one of our all time favorites for snorkeling.

Things to Do

Crystal and Fantasy Caves

The Crystal & Fantasy Caves are Bermuda's top visitor attraction for some very spectacular reasons. Deep, clear underground pools of azure blue water. Incredible formations of every size and shape imaginable. Cave ceilings adorned with rare chandelier clusters and delicate crystallized soda straws.

Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute

This is done through a series of eye-popping artifacts and exhibits, many of them interactive.

Bermuda Aquarium, Natural History Museum & Zoo

Bermuda Aquarium, Museum & Zoo, also known as the BAMZ in short, is one of our favorite attractions in Bermuda. Located in the picturesque Flatts Village in Hamilton parish, BAMZ was founded in 1926. You need to budget 2 to 3 hours to enjoy the whole of BAMZ.
