Asuseyi's Story

Adeola and I were connected by my coworker who had been with the company for 3 weeks at the time. I was hesitant at first because I’m usually against being connected with people and plus, I’ve only known this coworker for 3 weeks. 'How can I trust her judgement?'. She showed me Adeola's picture, and I was sold. Lol “Set it up”. Numbers were exchanged, a double date was planned, and we were moving forward.

The first date didn’t go the way I would’ve wanted it, but I’ll spare the details. During the date, I thought to myself, “should I let this go or ask for a redo?” I made the decision to speak to her on the side and express how I felt the night went. As we walked to her car, we both gave our honest reviews of how we felt about the night, and our expectations for dating/relationships. We skipped the small talk and just laid it all out. She gave more of her expectations than I did and that’s what attracted me to her more. After that night I knew I only had one more chance to make a good impression. The very next day I called an emergency meeting with a few experienced men for advice about how to handle this moving forward, because I knew I found the one, and the rest is history.

I knew in my spirit that Adeola is the one for me and God has been confirming it continuously. I found comfort in knowing that our goals aligned and together we will grow in every area of life. I know that God’s glory would be showcased through our love.

Adeola's Story

On March 24th, 2022 I got a text from my friend Willie saying “Hey sis what do you think about my colleague Asuseyi?” First off, Willie just started working there 3 weeks ago, secondly I’m reluctant to be set up with people, but, the picture she sent of him had me intrigued. She gave me the rundown, I gave her the green light and next thing I know, a double date had been set up. In the meantime, we exchanged numbers and spent hours talking on the phone, so the anticipation to hang out in person was building.

I’d love to say the first date was perfect with sparks and butterflies, but that wasn’t the case. I could spare the details of how hangry I was from not eating all day, or how uncomfortable it was for him to be bowling with 3 complete strangers, but these details felt necessary.Let’s just say at the end of the night, I wasn’t sure if we would be seeing each other again.

To my surprise, He asked to walk me to my car, and I decided this was my chance to lay it all out. I gave him my full “I’m not here for the games” speech, but shockingly he welcomed it and truly heard me out. He also felt this wasn’t the best representation of himself and asked to take me out properly. How could I say no?

A week later, he came all the way correct. He picked me up from my house with roses and a perfume set, then took me to dinner in DC. We laughed, we talked and enjoyed each other's company. I didn’t want the night to end.

The rest was truly history. Everything happened “suddenly” as God had promised me. Over the span of 10 months we spent quality time together, met each other's families, and decided we wanted to choose each other for the rest of our lives. I fell in love with his heart. His commitment to God, his love for family and his intentional pursuit of me showed me he’s the man I prayed for. On January 29th, 2023, he asked me to be his wife. I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with Asuseyi.
