It didn’t take long for Adam to know that he had found someone special. There was an instant connection between the two. From the first date, they were getting compliments of what a good couple they were. Although Adam and Klaire started their relationship off long distance, he knew that it would work because of the chemistry they had. As the days turned into weeks, and weeks turned to months, 17 months quickly flew by as May 3rd was approaching. Adam had been thinking about proposing on this day for a long time. From asking Mr. Kendell’s blessing, to asking Mrs. Bonita and Brooke’s opinion on the perfect engagement ring, Klaire had no idea what was in the works.
As May 3rd approached, Klaire was busy studying and finishing this semester in PT school, with a white coat to end the semester. Adam had been ring shopping and found the perfect engagement ring. Klaire had no idea what was going to happen later that day even though he thought she might be catching on. Adam had been telling Klaire to focus on school and the rest would eventually come together after she graduated in 2020.
Because Klaire's favorite place is the beach and her favorite time of the day is sunset, Adam could not think of any better place than the beach at sunset to propose. As May 3rd approached, the day began with Klaire's white coat ceremony. All day long Mr. Kendell was telling Klaire, “Klaire this is your day!” Adam was nervous all day long, hoping the plans would work out perfectly. As the ceremony ended in the morning, Adam had to figure out a way to stall Klaire all day to not ruin the surprise. Luckily, Klaire decided to take a nap once they arrived at the beach.
Adam and Klaire headed out to the beach prior to sunset where she believed that she was about to take family pictures. To her surprise, as they walked out on the beach, she found an area of rose petals with a little black box in the middle. “Wait! Is this for me?”, Klaire asked. Adam had the perfect speech planned out in his head that he had been rehearsing for weeks, but in the moment, emotion overcame. There's no telling the words that Adam said before he took a knee and asked Klaire “Will you marry me?” Instead of the response he was looking for, Klaire said “Are you serious?! Are you serious?!” Adam nodded his head with bigger eyes and asked again “Will you marry me?” This time, tears started to run down Klaire’s face as she said “Yes!” With hands in the air and shouts of joy from Adam, he quickly put the ring on her finger and gave Klaire a big hug and a kiss. Claps and shouts of approval came from stranger’s balconies as they had witnessed the whole event. As they were heading back to the beach house, one last surprise of decorations and family celebrations were waiting on their return.
Adam grew up in Meridian, Mississippi. He graduated from Lamar High School in 2009. Along with several classmates, he headed straight to Ole Miss his freshman year. Adam graduated from the University of Mississippi in 2012 with an Exercise Science degree and a minor in Psychology. Adam was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. Adam got accepted into the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in Florida. Adam graduated with his Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2015. Adam moved to North Alabama to work as a physical therapist for Drayer.
Klaire grew up in Athens, Alabama. She finished high school at Athens High School and played soccer at The University of Alabama in Huntsville for a year. She had always been a huge Auburn fan and decided to transfer to Auburn University and graduated with an Exercise Science degree. Klaire will graduate with her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in May 2020.
