Our journey started when Cody moved to Woodbridge in 2008. We ended up in multiple classes together and passed notes, just as high school students do. A couple of weeks later we began dating! Unfortunately, the fairy-tale does not start here, as Cody soon moved back to his hometown to finish high school.

Spoiler - the fairy tale does not happen here either!
Our friendship ensued through high school and we ended up going to college four hours away from one another. Our paths never crossed while studying down south, but we remained in contact (although Abby claims Cody never answered his phone). There was always that connection between us that seemed to never fade away no matter the distance.

Shortly after starting dental school in 2017, we were both back in the Northeast and seeing each other fairly often, however Cody's phone still somehow seemed to not work properly, again.
Now comes the story book ending. In January 2018 we went to Vermont as "just friends" (Cody's words) and one week later we were dating. This time it was not a high school, note passing, fling. This was the start of the Haumann family.

On a uncharacteristically warm day in CT for October, our fairy tale had its happy ending, one that all our families claimed they knew from 2008. Cody planned for our families to gather at Chamard Vineyard in Clinton, CT to surprise Abby. He told her they were going to have a picnic and stay over night for her birthday. When they arrived, Cody bypassed the front door, dropped to a knee and asked Abby to marry him in front of the grape vines.
