Wedding Venue

Palácio dos Marqueses da Fronteira

There will be transportation provided for guests to and from Cascais. Details on the pickup spot and return times will follow.

If you’re not staying in Cascais, the Wedding venue is in Lisbon proper and and can be accessed by public transportation. It is also a very easy Uber or Taxi ride which allows for more flexible arrival and departure times. We recommend using Uber or the MyTaxi app, which is very similar to Uber, and often cheaper. Both are very safe and affordable.

The wedding attire is semi-formal/cocktail. The ceremony and dinner will be held outside. We expect warm weather, but ladies may want to bring a light shawl/wrap for the evening.

Cascais, Portugal

Cascais Accommodations

The wedding party will be staying in Cascais, a relaxed beach town about 20 minutes south of Lisbon. The town is a very easy train ride to Lisbon and a short drive to Sintra. We will be having the Welcome dinner and Brunch in Cascais, but the wedding will be in Lisbon.

We recommend looking at Air BnB’s anywhere you stay as this is often more affordable. However, if you would like to stay in a hotel there are several options. Below is the link to a pretty hotel right in the center of Cascais that we visited. There are other options including an Intercontinental in Lisbon and the Palacio Hotel where James Bond “Casino Royale” was filmed in Cascais for those seeking more luxury accommodations.

Don’t hesitate to reach out to one of us if you have questions!

Lisbon Accommodations

Lisbon is full of hotels, hostels and Air BnB’s. We highly recommend an Air BnB if you’re going to stay in the city as they usually have a kitchen for breakfast in and a local host with loads of tips. We’ve put a link to an Air BnB we stayed at below. The host, João, owns several Air BnB’s in Lisbon and was fantastic to work with. Wether you choose a hotel or Air BnB, we recommend you stay in either the Barrio Alto or Alfama neighborhood. Both neighborhoods are centrally located and allow you to walk or access the metro easily.

What To Do in Lisbon?

We have a couple low-key events planned to bring everyone together. There are lots of sites to see in Lisbon! We recommend visiting the following places.

1. Sintra - About 30 minutes outside of Lisbon, Sintra can be done as a day trip. Sintra is known for its numerous historic palaces and castles. You can easily do this trip solo and visit most of the castles. There are also lots of tours you can book and guides for hire. The train is an easy way to get there as it takes you right to Sintra proper.

2. São Jorge Castle - this castle is in the heart of Lisboa and takes a few hours to tour. When you’re finished enjoy some Portuguese food and drinks overlooking the Alfama district and the Tagus river.

3. Bèlem Tower - perhaps Lisbon’s most famous site, this is a must see in Lisbon. It’s a quick taxi ride, or a few train stops from city center. After you’ve checked it out walk a few blocks and get a Pastel De Nata at the famous Pastéis de Belém. Then check out Jerónimos Monestary across the street (free entry).

4. In the Barrio Alto district is Time Out Market. It was a huge success when they opened, so much so New York opened one. At Time Out Market, you will find all the local cuisine and top chefs have small restaurants in the market. The food and atmosphere is amazing. There are also local souvenirs to peruse here.

5. Treasures of Lisboa - This is a walking food tour through the Alfama district's narrow streets, to taste the best Portuguese dishes and drinks in authentic places. We went on this tour and had a great time. The tour lasts approximately 3.5 hours and costs $69 per person. Air BnB also offers many other experiences you can book while visiting Lisbon and the rest of Portugal.

We have several other spots we love in Lisboa so please feel free to text or call us as you plan your trip!
