In the Fall of 2018 Adam and Abbi attended a popular Halloween Party / Mini Festival pretentiously named "You Are So Lucky." The party would be on Governor's Island during a cold and rainy night. The previous night, Adam stopped by Party City and threw together a kind of Goth Vampire costume with Skull Eyes that would later be referred to as "Looking Like a Racoon." Abbi similarly put together a costume with what she could find that she post-hoc called a Wednesday Addams. After a difficult journey involving a Ferry they separately arrived - Abbi with her sister Amanda ready to dance the night away and shoo away guys (I assume) and Adam prepared with his light-up juggling balls and card-trick repertoire along with his friend Ryan. Unfortunately not long after arriving Adam and Ryan got separated. Adam would later find out that Ryan's phone had bounced out of his costume pants and he wouldn't find it till much, much later. On his own Adam proceeded to explore the venue. Curious about a large building and the long line that formed outside, he decided he'd ask someone queued up what the deal was. Instead of walking all the way to the back to ask the people there (who might not even know) he thought it would be better to ask a group closer to the front. Once he found out, he would obviously move on to the back as it would be wrong to cut a line. He would never get the chance to show everyone that he didn't intend to cut the line because on his way there, he and Abbi locked eyes. She was waiting on the line and was probably wondering about the terrible makeup Adam was wearing. Adam asked about the line and Abbi told him it was for one of the main stages. They noticed a side door and Abbi suggested they both go check it out. Turns out the side door was staff and VIP so they went back to the main line which was immediately dispersed due to the Fire Department closing it down. Turns out a condemned hospital building without working plumbing wasn't going to fly. Friendless, Adam decided to join Abbi and Amanda as they continued exploring. At some point Abbi asked what the weird fanny pack bag thing was that Adam was wearing around his waist. It was at that moment that Adam realized one of his Juggling balls had dropped out of his Tennis-ball holder thing that was really only meant to hold two balls. Devastated, he explained the situation to Abbi and Amanda. Abbi immediately sprung into action to help Adam find his ball. They never managed to find it. Having lost his friend and now a ball, Adam joined Abbi and her sister (who told Abbi she should try to ditch him because she thought he was weird). They talked, danced, laughed, and looked for Ryan for the rest of the night. Adam performed magic tricks for various parties, including a staff worker who was so awed that she let them all into the VIP building. There wasn't really anything special in there except that it was 'exclusive'. By the time the night was coming to an end the wind and rain had really picked up. It was becoming a veritable hurricane. Not a great situation when you're on a small island and need to take Ferry back home. Miraculously, while trying to find the exit, Ryan reappeared. The four of them made their way to Ferry in the heavy downpour, and eventually made it back to Manhattan where they politely exchanged numbers and went their separate ways as far as anyone is concerned.

For their first valentines day (a few months into their relationship) Adam took Abbi to City Vineyard - a romantic restaurant overlooking the Hudson River.

That one time when everyone stopped being able to go anywhere, Abbi and Adam became transients. They bounced between Adam's parent's houses in Armonk and Montauk, Abbi's mom's house in Mooresville and Abbi's dad's house in Davidson. They had been planning a trip to Norway for that fall, but that plan had to be cancelled for obvious reasons. Mid-summer when it seemed like things weren't going to change any time soon, Abbi had a great idea about how to still go on a long Fall Vacation during lockdowns - a cross country RV road trip. Abbi and Adam (but mostly Abbi) researched cars, RVs, travel trailers, and everything involved with road tripping in a camper. Eventually they landed on a Jeep Grand Cherokee with the upgraded 5.7L V8 engine and a 29' Kodiak Lightweight travel trailer.

Before the Great American Road Trip could begin, Abbi figured it'd be a great opportunity to get and raise a puppy. We'd be able to be with him the whole time on the road, we'd be hiking all the time, and she really wanted a puppy. Enter Finn! He was found on an app and delivered from Ohio using a different app. Seemed kind of risky to pay ahead hoping this couple would pick up a puppy and drive him 8 hours for delivery - but everyone came through and the morning after picking him out he was delivered into our arms by a nice couple who spends all their time driving between Ohio, DC, and New York delivering puppies. Not a bad gig.

From September 20th-ish to mid December Adam and Abbi towed a 29' travel trailer from New York to Maine, then across the upper states to California, down through Napa and Sonoma, then back across the lower states to rush back to North Carolina to be home in time for Christmas. Their initial estimation that it would take a month to travel around the country was off by 1.5 months. They visited many a National Park and trailer park. They took tons of footage but Adam hasn't gotten around to editing it all together... yet. Something they found out soon after getting Finn and taking to the road was that dogs aren't actually allowed in most National Parks which really made things a lot more difficult.

After Christmas, when it was clear that that whole thing with not being able to go to work or restaurants or anywhere was going to go on for many more months, Abbi and Adam needed a new somewhat short-term plan for where they'd live that didn't involve living with anyone's parents.
Again thanks to Abbi's brilliance, they found a long-term Airbnb listing in Salt Lake City that provided sub-hour driving distance from 4 different ski resorts that were all on the Ikon pass. Thus they made their way back across the country for a 2 month stint in Utah. They skied almost every weekend and some weeknights.

All that time together gave Abbi enough opportunity to convince Adam to move to Charlotte, North Carolina with her instead of moving back into a small apartment in Manhattan. The idea was to "try it out" and "just give it a year to see how I like it." 2 Years in and they now own a new house with a yard and enough bedrooms for their own offices and a guest room. They built a firepit in their backyard that involved Adam getting to pilot a mini-excavator for a day.
