The Meeting In August 2013, James was in Las Vegas for a friend's bachelor party and Kat was in Las Vegas for a fun weekend with the girls. Their eyes met at the Hakkasan Night Club and with lots of liquid courage, Kat approached James. They continued their friendship from there... blah blah blah... and the rest is history.
The Chase After meeting in Las Vegas, Kat had no intention of dating James since he lived in Seattle and she was about to graduate from UCLA nursing school. Kat couldn't get rid of James through his lengthy texts and persistent phone calls. They took turns visiting each other in Seattle and LA before James moved to LA for school in March 2014.
The Proposal On August 11, 2019, James brought Kat to the park she brought him the first time he visited her in Los Angeles seven years ago. In the middle of Los Angeles Grand Park, James got down on one knee and asked Kat to be his wife. The biggest surprise was when their close family and friends came out from hiding in the bushes to celebrate their new engagement.
