MERIDA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

If you are only coming for a few days, we recommend you fly directly into Merida city. Most international flights will have a layover in Mexico City. Not a bad option if you want to have a few days to explore the capital.

CANCUN INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Another option is to fly into Cancun. There is soo much to do and see in and around Cancun. Once in Cancun, you can only get to Merida by road via renting a car, taking a shared van or by bus. 

RENT A CAR

A 3.5 hour drive from Cancun to Merida. The roads are safe and well signaled (we tested this first hand in our trip to Merida, Dec 2021). You can have a nice road trip on the way to Merida and explore beautiful destinations such as Chichen Itza, Valladolid, Izamal. 

TAKE A SMALL VAN WITH OTHER GUESTS

We recommend this option in case you don´t want to drive in Mexico. We´ll share more details as soon as possible.

If you only go to one bar in Merida, make sure it is Picheta. Boasting one of the best views, with a rooftop bar and delicious cocktails, a booking is necessary to reservce a spot. La Negrita Cantina is another top recommended option; one of many bars in Merida.
