Dana and Wesley met in August of 2014 on the illustrious and historic campus of Alabama A&M University in Huntsville, AL. Dana was working as a Graduate Assistant in the Office of Graduate Studies. A coworker of hers, who was assisting Wesley with course registration, thought it would be a great idea to play match maker. He introduced them on Wesley’s first day of class and insisted that they exchange contact information. Dana and Wesley obliged her coworker and spent that next year getting to know each other and building a strong connection.
During that year, Dana was accepted into Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL to continue her graduate studies. She left Huntsville hopeful that her connection with Wesley would survive the distance. Although it was not easy, they continued to grow their relationship. They believed that if they could survive the distance then they would be even stronger together.
In 2016, Wesley accepted an employment opportunity at Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA. Dana later moved to Atlanta in 2018. Wesley proposed to Dana in 2019 on New Year’s Eve. They are looking forward to becoming one and celebrating their love with their family and friends on 11/11/22.
