Warren's Perspective
This picture was taken on Valentines Day 2020.
When I met Charmaine, she let me know that she likes to be surprised. So for our first Valentines day, I wanted to surprise her. Leading up to the day, I gave no hints or clues to where or what we could be doing for that day.
One that day, I was using GPS to drive us to the location. And somehow, I added the wrong address for the destination. And we drove for almost an hour before I realized this. It's something we laugh about now, but I was so mad at the time.
Eventually I got the right address, and we made it to Navy Pier. A place she told me before hand, she really wanted to go. And I got us tickets to go on the large Ferris wheel. Even though we both don't really do well with heights, we both had a great time. Taking in the sights, and enjoying our time together.
I will always remember this day.

Charmaine's Perspective
Valentines Day 2020 was truly one to remember.
I remember everything about the night. I was dying with anticipation trying to figure out where we were going. It seemed like we were driving forever. He eventually realized we were lost!
Our relationship was still very new. My mother was tracking me the entire time. lol! She called and asked "Where in the world are ya'll going"? We finally got back on track and I realized we were arriving to Navy Pier. I told him during one of our first conversations that I wanted to go and how I had not ridden the Ferris wheel in years.
It made me smile to know that he paid attention to my wants and likes. Although both of us were nervous, it was truly a beautiful night. I could not have asked for a better Valentines Day. Who would have known it would be the first of many we would spend together.
Charmaine's Perspective
2020! Wow! I remember when the year started, I was trying to decide where I wanted to go for my birthday. Then the world shut down completely. I was unsure when I would be able to travel again. Traveling makes me feel fulfilled. I love making new memories and seeing new things. The weekend before my birthday he told me to pack a bag and that we were going away for the weekend. I kept thinking where could we possibly be going when everything was closed? I agreed and packed my bag. We arrived downtown for our “staycation”. I was completely blown away by everything he had planned. Every detail was so intricate. This weekend I knew for certain how important it is for him to see me happy. He went above and beyond, and I was so grateful. I remember saying you did all of this for me, and he responded of course babe. I’d never experienced anything even remotely close in my life. All while being in the middle of a pandemic.

Warren's Perspective
The year was 2020. A year that will live on in infamy. Because of COVID-19, everybody had to wear face masks, quarantine, and worst of all, multiple places and locations had to close down due to the pandemic.
I was learning that Charmaine was used to traveling for her birthday, but this year because of COVID-19, that was not going to happen. And she was feeling down because she won't be able to do what she's used to for her birthday.
I noticed this, and I looked around for places that was still open during the pandemic. And I found a hotel in downtown Chicago was still open; called the Godfrey Hotel.
So for her birthday that year, I took her to the hotel as a quick vacation away away from home. And enjoy everything the hotel had to offer. I wanted her to have a good time despite the being in the pandemic.
Warren's Perspective
Planning and celebrating Valentines day with somebody special was new to me, but having someone reciprocate that for me on Sweetest Day is completely new grounds. And Charmaine kept it a surprise, just like I did for Valentines day.
Just like I did for Valentines day, she gave no hints or clues to what it could be. So when the day came, I was excited to find out that she had the weekend planned out. We had dinner at a really nice restaurant, and the next day we went to one of my favorite restaurants (Home Run Inn). And she also planned for us to do a couple's painting class.
She knew I liked drawing, and wanted for us both to do something using that skill. And right there, I saw that she could return just as much as I could give. That we were a team.

Charmaine's Perspective
Sweetest Day 2020! I try to do my best to show him appreciation everyday but, I wanted to make sure he felt extra special because that's what he deserves. It killed me to keep everything a secret but, I did not want to ruin the surprise. I wanted the weekend to include things that I knew he loved. Warren is a foodie so, of course I had to include food in my surprise. He appreciates a good steak. I decided to take him to Perry's Steakhouse Friday night. Saturday we went to Home Run Inn (his favorite) and Pinot's Palette. Everyone knows that I do not have an artistic bone in my body. Lol! I wanted the weekend to be all about him. To watch him in his element as he painted made my heart smile.
Warren's Perspective:
It did not take long for me to see how special Charmaine was. And I knew early that Charmaine was the one. But I did not know how to pop the question. I love romantic over the top gestures, like the stuff on TV. So eventually I had the idea to make the video below.
Charmaine's Perspective:
I am a sucker for romantic gestures. I cry during romance movies. I have always wanted to get married and often wonder how I would be asked when the time came. This proposal surpassed my imagination. It was like I was in a movie. I was so overwhelmed with emotion. I could not believe he put everything together and I had no clue. I am nosey so I know it was exceedingly difficult to hide it from me. Lol! He made sure to include some of the people I love the most. I could not have asked for a better proposal.
We have shared with you some of our favorite first moments together and the moment we decided to spend the rest of our lives together. There is no person in this world I would rather do this thing called life with. He is my person. September 16, 2022 will be a dream come true.

We cannot say enough about Sharrell. She has been a blessing to us since we started this journey. She has helped us to smile when the stress of wedding planning started weighing on us. Sharrell understands our vision and is helping to make sure everything falls in place on our big day.
Sharrell, we love you. We appreciate you. There is no way we can repay you or thank you enough. You are amazing at what you do!

Where should I start, Warren is a very loving, kind-hearted person that has no problem sharing his wild thoughts, ideas, and opinions with others. But don’t confuse his kindness and willingness to help for weakness, he’s a very proud, strong-minded man that stands up for what he believes in, and one thing we know for sure is that he believes in is Charmaine.
We've only seen Warren truly happy, excited, and down-right proud twice: At his College Graduation, and then when he met Charmaine. Warren introduced us to very few of his women friends, so, when we met Charmaine, by the look in his eyes, and as their friendship grew, we knew that she deeply cared for Warren, enjoyed his company and that they were made for each other.
Warren, we are wishing you and Charmaine best of things in your marriage. We are confident that you two will be a blessing to each other and to those who you meet along your journey together. Congratulations Son! We wish you a happy and prosperous married life that lasts forever! God Bless You.

Charmaine has always been a wonderful daughter. She is head strong, smart, and beautiful. Charmaine honors her parents and always wants what’s best for us. Growing up she proved to be a daughter who wanted the best things in life and did everything she could to be able to afford her passion (traveling).
Cha-cha will always be our baby. During holidays, Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, and birthdays,’ she has always gone beyond what we expected or needed. As parents, we always want to see our children successful, happy, and loved. As her mother, my prayer was that God would bless her with someone who would love and cherish her.
When we met Warren, we had no idea that their journey would end up here. We quickly learned that the two were like minded and were products of families who love hard. Warren comes from a good family. He made sure to introduce us to his parents early in their relationship. Over their first year of dating, our love for him grew. We are very particular about her but knew quickly that he was a winner!
We’re elated that these two will be spending the rest of their lives together!
