So I’m going to preface this story by saying Kyle and I disagree on how we met and got together. But since I am telling the story, y’all will get my version. I was working at the Hulen AT&T store when Kyle transferred there in November of 2014. We were friends from the beginning, and as Kyle so politely puts it, I was one of the only girls he could stand at that store. We would occasionally go to lunch together and we would talk while on the floor but that was it. After a while we started texting and that progressed into some random phone calls. Now this is where some disagreement happens. There was a team outing one night at Top Golf in Addison. As someone that can’t find their way out of a papersack, I did not trust that I would be able to get to Addison, especially at night. So Kyle and I were talking at work and I asked if he would want to ride to Top Golf together. Which to Kyle meant I was trying to find a reason to hang out with him. I had no ulterior motive. After that night, Kyle and I started to hang out more and more and eventually it progressed into a relationship. Definitely don’t regret asking him to ride to Top Golf together though :)

Although we both knew eventually we would be taking this step, we never really had any serious conversations on the topic. I wanted her to be surprised whenever that time came so I kept it quiet, and made plans for us on Thanksgiving evening since our family's celebrated the day before. I had told her that some friends were getting together at Ruth's Chris Steak House, it needed to be a nice restaurant, so that she wouldn't be suspicious of me trying to convince her we needed to wear something other than our normal sweat pants and house slippers out of the house.
Once we headed downtown, for the first time since I began planning the proposal, I started getting nervous. I wasn't sure why, I never even considered the possibility of her response to me proposing any way other than yes, but my imagination started running all over. Obviously, I had nothing to worry about, and here we are.
Luckily for me she wasn't paying any attention to where we had parked or the direction we were headed while walking to dinner, I told her I wanted to walk by the tree in Sundance on the way (not even close to on the way). So after a couple minutes of looking at all the people around us and the tree, she was ready to keep walking to dinner and I couldn't stall anymore, I was trying to get the question out quickly so I could get back up off one knee and stop drawing attention to ourselves. All the planning became worth it when I saw the surprised (and excited) look on her face when she realized what was happening.
After she realized what had just happened, she started telling me we should get someone to get a photo of us, and that's when I told her that her cousin Sarah, and Sarah's husband Carter, were blending in around the area with their cameras getting photos for us, and that is around the time her aunt Pam and uncle Bruce drove by honking and screaming at us. They had been circling Sundance watching for us and waiting to pick up Sarah and Carter.
We then headed to dinner for the first time as an engaged couple.
