Their first meeting was in a place most people would not expect, the Windy City! They were both in medical school; Jasmin had just started her clinical rotations and Vivek was eagerly awaiting his rotations to get started spending his time teaching medical students. As fate would have it, both Jasmin and Vivek would get invited to the same Halloween Birthday Party in Chicago.
Night 1: The Introduction
The night began as any birthday party would, with formal introductions and a group of exhausted medical students eager to get out and let loose. As the night progressed and Vivek and Jasmin got to talking, it was clear that they both had a lot in common. From growing up in California, taste in music, the struggles of being an older sibling, going to rival Pac-12 colleges, avid love for the Warriors and Lakers, and work/study/life balance. Suffice to say, after the night was over Jasmin and Vivek both came away impressed.Night 2: Costume Party
Having met the night before, both Jasmin and Vivek were meticulous about what they should wear (to impress the other of course!!). Jasmin, to come off strong, beautiful and mysterious, went with the Egyptian Queen Cleopatra and Vivek, trying to be handsome, independent and confident, decided to go with Tom Cruise from Top Gun. The two were inseparable that night, and it was clear to both of them that this first meeting would develop into a close friendship. Vivek and Jasmin continued to remain close, and after a short time that friendship blossomed into love.And The Rest Is History...
