Are you on Team Aniston or Team Jolie? She stood there making up her mind when he first noticed her during their orientation at Deloitte. Oversized glasses, vacant expression, and a perpetual frown that told everyone - Blow my mind or don't talk to me! Three hours later at a baking competition, he told her those magical words that would change her life forever, "The name is D'souza, Melwyn D'souza".
Right then he noticed her dog tattoo and they spent the next few weeks talking anything and everything about dogs. He regaled her with tales of adventure, suspense, and drama right until he asked her to be his date to a gala at the MET. She said YES! SCORE!
As fate saw it fit, they both ended up with projects in Houston, where they would stage run-ins with each other at the airport every Monday morning. There began the journey of #VaishFTWyn
Over the next few months, they got to know each other better and he found out that she secretly was the Grinch! Being a happy puppy himself, he quickly realized that the answer to all her problems was food!
With a full tummy and jolly company, she set out on countless adventures with him spanning 3 continents and numerous cities. Now you know why the Grinch's heart grew 3 times and had the strength of ten Grinches plus two.
From the depths of the Grand Canyon, to the frozen lakes in the Arctic, they spent their weekends traveling around the country and getting to know each other better. Both avid lovers of the outdoors, the perfect day spent together soon became one filled with nature and physical activity.
With each passing trip, they met each other's friends and soon started to weave a friend group that secretly vetted the other person, and at the same time became their support system far away from home!
Partners in crime, they soon assumed defacto roles - Vaish the planner who plans everything, and Melwyn the follower who drives her everywhere and doesn't have to bother with planning anything!
Expert planner that she is, Vaish made elaborate plans to have all her friends attend her graduation along with 16 members of her family. When the day came, he ended up being the only one who actually showed up! What a stand up-guy right?
Sure the whole world thought that was a dead giveaway, but Vaish was convinced that nobody knows anything. This publicly known secret soon blossomed into a relationship that made each other a daily name in conversations with our parents. For Melwyn, this was a glimpse into how tight-knit Vaish is with her family. For Vaish, this is where she knew that she could always count on him!
With the blessings of both parents and unwavering belief that she is "The One", he set out to plan his proposal in Alabama with his friends on February 22, 2020. Absolutely nothing went according to the plan!
When the day came, she reached 3 hours late and it was pitch dark. Contrary to the picture here, she didn't actually say "YES"!
Well, she said "WAIT" and rummaged through her bag to pull out a ring that was bigger than mine. Atleast I said "YES"!
With COVID throwing a wrench in our wedding plans, we are still happy to have you join us (both virtually and in-person) to celebrate this occasion.
