- The nearest airport is Porto Airport (OPO) – Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport.

- From Porto, you can reach Braga by car, train, or transfer (see below).


Transportation

Car

- Taxis, Ubers, and private transfers are available at the airport. Braga is around a 45-minute drive from Porto Airport.

Train

- Regular trains run from Porto Campanhã station to Braga (journey takes ~1 hour).

- You can take a metro or taxi from the airport to Campanhã station.

Explore the Historic Center

Wander through Braga’s charming old town filled with narrow streets, local shops, traditional cafés, and historical landmarks. Rua do Souto is a popular pedestrian street for shopping and sightseeing.

Bom Jesus do Monte

A UNESCO World Heritage Site and Braga’s most iconic landmark. You can climb the grand baroque staircase or take the historic funicular to the top, where you'll find a beautiful church, gardens, and panoramic views.

Sanctuary of Sameiro

Located just outside the city, this peaceful hilltop sanctuary offers incredible views and a serene atmosphere. A great complement to visiting Bom Jesus.

Braga Cathedral (Sé de Braga)

One of Portugal’s oldest cathedrals, showcasing a unique mix of Romanesque, Gothic, and Baroque architecture. Don’t miss the cloisters and museum.

Jardim de Santa Bárbara

A beautifully maintained garden in the heart of the city, perfect for a relaxing stroll or a quick photo stop.

- Expect mild, pleasant weather: daytime highs around 18–22°C (64–72°F) [MIGHT NEED TO CHANGE THIS]
