- West Bay Beach is known for its white sand, calm blue water, and snorkeling. while West Bay is a larger area comprised of West Bay Beach – filled with resorts and hotels and the surrounding neighborhoods offering a multitude of vacation rental properties.

- West End is known for its smaller hotels, gift shops, dive outfitters, mini-marts, bars, and restaurants. It is in the northwest corner of Roatan and is the liveliest of the island's districts, perfect if you're looking to balance laid-back days with action-packed nights.

The airport for flights to Roatan is Juan Manuel Gálvez International Airport (RTB). It's the only major airport serving Roatan and is located 1 kilometer from the city center.

**side note: There are no direct flights from LA to Roatán. Depending on the airline, you will have a 2-3hrs layover in Houston or Miami.

Gumbalimba Park also offers the opportunity to witness macaws flying freely, a colorful spectacle that brings the island's vibrant ecosystem to life. The Sloth Sanctuary offers the chance to meet and even hold these gentle, slow-moving creatures.

West End is not known for a typical “clubbing” scene. It’s more of a relaxed area with laid-back bars and restaurants, offering a more casual vibe. Roatán is a very laid-back, tropical destination.

The nightlife usually picks up on Fridays and Saturdays. Simply dress in your favorite summer attire—ladies in a cute dress, sandals or wedges and gentlemen in shorts with comfortable sandals or if you want to dress it up some deck shoes or top-siders and enjoy bar hopping while experiencing the variety of music genres each venue offers.
