We did know eachother in high school, very briefly considering we went to each other's rivalry high schools and Brett was 3 grades above me. We originally connected over a photo Brett posted about his dog named Karma. A boxer, from a shelter that I happened to get my boxers from. Instant click, because well, if you know tay she loves her animals. Instagram led to texting which then led to a date at the good ol Dave and busters. There was zero first date awkwardness or anything. We clicked seamlessly and talked for hours on end! From that day on we were inseparable. I know it sounds cliche but it's true!
After all day at Bandimere ( where Brett discovered he has a 10 second car) he raced his butt home to grab the ring and head to his parents house! I on the other hand was just enjoying a family day For his sister's gender reveal. Had zero clue at all. Which this is how things are supposed to go, so good job Mr. Henry! Everyone kept asking, "when's Brett coming? Where is Brett at? " I was so oblivious.
Brett walks in and says hello to everyone and as I walk over to greet my guy, I notice the staring and smiling and Michele and my mom already almost in tears (my heart). He didn't hesitate at all, this is all I remember, "you're my best friend.. my biggest supporter.." and they're not lyin' when they say you black out. Mister Brett went down on one knee and it's a movie at this point, hang in there. I cried, he cried, we all cried! It was truly the greatest moment you ever experience with your favorite person. I said yes of course and we celebrated the rest of the night with family and friends! We now can't wait for I do's with those same people!
