How to get to Tuscany
To get to Italy...
The closest airports to San Galgano are:
- Florence (FLR) 1hr 15mins drive to venue;
- Pisa (PSA) 2hr drive;
- Bologna International (BLQ) 2hr drive;
- Rome (FCO) and Rome Ciampino (CIA) 3hr drive;
We recommend using skyscanner to search for flights and co-ordinate with others on booking the same flights, hiring rental cars or getting buses to the venue.

AUSTRALIA UPDATE: We are thrilled you can travel again! Most of you will likely make a holiday out of your trip and do some travelling in Italy. A number of people will be spending the weekend in Siena and taking a transfer to the venue on Monday 19th from Siena to San Galgano. From Italy airports to the venue
We recommend hiring a car if possible as Tuscany is in the countryside of Italy and a bit remote which means peace, tranquility and beautiful scenery but not too much public transport. A very useful comparison site for car rental is: https://www.autoeurope.ie/.
If hiring a car is not an option then organising an airport transfer or making your way to Siena (train or bus) is your best bet.

A taxi or transfer from Siena will get you to San Galgano in approx 45 minutes.

Venue booked for exclusive use
As we are having a destination wedding it was important for us to choose a place where everyone can stay together and participate in all of the weekends activities without the hassles of transport.
Update: Covid vaccine certs will be required to be send to the venue prior to check-in. We will be in touch with guests closer to the time to advise on how to submit.
We have exclusively booked the Agriturismo (Casale) San Galgano for all guests for 3 nights Monday 19th to Thurs 22nd September 2022.
The ceremony venue (the Abbey) and accommodation are on the same grounds and less than 5 mins walk from each other (see photo above).
Please confirm the number of adults and children when RSVPing so we can allocate rooms and apartments.
Price is approx €75-€85 per person per night bed and breakfast. Rates have been updated since 2020. Children on sofa beds stay free.
Breakfast is included in the room rate and evening meals will be included as part of our wedding events over the 3 days. There is an onsite bar and restaurant for any extra meals/drinks.
We advise people to bring some cash/Euro for ease although it will be possible to charge larger items to your room.
For anyone wishing to explore Italy a little longer...
We realise as people are travelling from all over the world that some of you may take this opportunity to explore Italy a few days before or after our wedding weekend. We will also be around before and after and would love to spend more time with you should you want to catch up.
Pre Wedding
UPDATE: We will be flying into Pisa on Sat 17th Sep22 and spending some time around Siena. Although we will be busy with wedding prep we hope to catch up some evening with a number of people staying in SIena city at the Hotel Il Chiostro del Carmine or Hotel Duomo for anyone interested. Details for hotel bookings are in the 'Travel Updates' above.
Post Wedding
UPDATE: We will be spending a few nights in Cinque Terra (22nd Sep to 26th Sep) then we will travel south towards Naples, Amalfi and honeymoon on Sardinia Island.
