The Beginning

It all started at a 1980's themed ski party in 2013.  It was the annual Enscicon ski party, Adam was ready for another great party on the slopes, and Melissa was tagging along with a friend from college who had just started working for the company.

Adam, wearing his grandmother's ski pants and his aunts bright puffy vest, asked the girls if they wanted to ski.  Melissa decided, why not it was a beautiful day at A-Basin and it is always more fun to ski with someone else.

We immediately hit it off talking about recent travels, and skiing down Pallpachini. Five hours later Melissa's friends were cold, tired and hungry, it was time to go home.   Melissa left quickly after a great day skiing, and without saying goodbye to her ski partner from the day.

That night Melissa's friend texted asking if she could give her number to her boss that she had been skiing with all-day. Oops!

We continued to text over the next week, however Melissa didn't want to talk on the phone after having nasal surgery that week.  However she went in early to get the shunts removed so she could enjoy the closing of Vail Mountain with Adam and his friends the next weekend.

Over the next year, we enjoyed a variety of adventures from Cabo to skiing Crested Butte.

Year Two

The theme of the ski party was Party Animal, and over the next year we adventured to Moab for mountain biking and camping with friends, enjoyed multiple friends weddings, and were able to ring-in the New Year in New Orleans for the Sugar Bowl.

Year Three
Rave was the theme of the ski party and over the next year we enjoyed all the Colorado mountains had to offer from hiking to skiing.  We had the opportunity to ski in the summer as we adventured to Argentina.  We skied in Patagonia, experienced the history and culture in Buenos Aires, and enjoyed the steak, beer, Malbec, and new friends teaching us about Argentinean barbecue.
Year Four

The theme of the ski party was Arctic Prom, and yes we did ski in a dress and suit.  We started the year scuba diving in Belize with friends.  In February we adopted a puppy.  Melissa did not want a boy dog and Adam did not want a black dog, however Zeke found us and it was over.  We immediately fell in love with our sweet little black boy dog with a permanent Mohawk, big brown eyes, and floppy ears.

Year Five

The theme of the ski party was Wild Wild West! Over the next year we had the opportunity to explore the wild wild west when we rafted down the Grand Canyon with Melissa's family.  We were able to ski in Utah with friends from Ohio and explore new ski mountains together. Over Thanksgiving we were extremely thankful for the love and hospitality of friends as we were able to visit friends in Kauai, Hawaii and explore the beauty of the island.

Year Six

The theme of the ski party was Star Wars, naturally we went at Chewy and his ewok. Over this year, we had the opportunity to enjoy Colorado and California.  We even had the opportunity to visit close friends in Germany.  It was amazing to meet and get to know their friends and family.  On our way home we explored Iceland, saw waterfalls, the Northern Lights, and Icelandic horses.

Year seven

The theme was Beach of Glory, it was based on Blades of Glory and ice capades.  Over this year we were able to continue to explore the world from Columbia and Europe, to Big Sur and Cabo.  Beyond our adventures it was a year of milestones, Melissa graduated with her MBA, we move into a new home, and we got engaged.

The Engagment

We were engaged where it all began, A-Basin.  Adam had planned the perfect weekend of enjoying the mountains.  We hiked to the mid-mountain lodge where they were hosting a sunset dinner.  With mountain surrounding us we were engaged.
