How To Get There!

Højslev is a small town a little less than 1 hour away from our home city of Aalborg, Denmark in Northern Jutland. We have the venue all night on Saturday, so the ceremony, reception, and after party will all take place there. You will be able to park cars there overnight if needed.

Renting a car or driving will be the "easiest" way for you to get there independently on your own schedule. BUT, since there is no public transportation to the venue, we will be providing transportation (bus rental) leaving from Zleep Hotel at 3pm on August 12th.

If you would like to camp overnight, the information is under "camping" on the events page.

We will be giving you a place to provide your travel details when you RSVP/S.U. so we can be sure to get you home safely!

Airports:

1. Aalborg Airport is the closest airport to the venue. You can fly directly to Aalborg Airport from New York City via SAS. You can also fly directly to Aalborg from Amsterdam, London, and other cities via other airlines such as KLM and Ryan Air.

2. Copenhagen Airport - You can take the train or bus to Aalborg from the airport. DAT (Danish Air Transport), Norwegian, and SAS have direct flights from Copenhagen to Aalborg. They are usually cheap and it only takes 30 minutes. It is also an option to rent a car in Copenhagen and "road trip" up north, it is about a 4.5 hour drive.

3. Fly to Billund Airport in Denmark. This options is best if you plan to rent a car, because there is no direct transportation from the airport to Aalborg or the venue (although it is possible!)

Train information: www.dsb.dk/en/explore-denmark-by-train/

You can purchase train and bus tickets through the machine in the airport, in most "7 Eleven" stores,  by ordering a reusable "Rejsekort" (travel card), or via the app.

For guests from USA

We encourage you to plan this weekend any way that works best for you and how you want to spend your time in Denmark/Europe! We are happy to help if you need guidance with anything while planning your travels.

Aalborg is a smaller city with great public transportation, and ways to get around by bike.

For Guests from Denmark

- If you would like transportation to/from Aalborg on August 12th, you can reserve your spot when you S.U.

-If you drive yourself, there is parking available at the venue and you are able to leave your car overnight.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

1.What will the weather be like?

While Danish weather can be unpredictable, August does tend to be one of the warmest months. Keep a watch on the weather forecast as it gets closer, and plan to bring layers!

2. Where/when is the ceremony taking place?

The ceremony, reception, and after-party will both take place at Strandet Hovedgaard in Højslev, Denmark on August 12th, 2023.

3. Are kids invited?

The only kids who are invited to the wedding are our nieces and nephews (we have a lot of those!). However, for our guests, if the only way you are able to attend is to bring your child with you, we completely understand. Just let us know ahead of time! We will likely have childcare set up if needed, more information to come.

4. Where should I stay?

See "accommodations" / hotels page.

5. When should I plan to RSVP/S.U.?

We will send an e-mail in December 2023 with a link to RSVP/S.U. We will send a reminder e-mail in March, April, and May 2023. We ask everyone to respond no later than June 1st, 2023.

6. Where should I send my RSVP/S.U.?

No wedding organization will be done using "snail mail"... all correspondence will be done through this website /app!

7. Will food be served at the reception?

Food will be provided for guests at the wedding event.

8. Will there be any vegan/vegetarian/gluten free/special diet options?

YES. There will be an option to share dietary restrictions when the RSVPs are sent.

9. Will there be an open bar?

LOL.

10.  Where are you registered?

The best gift we can get is having all of our favorite people in one place! We have had several of you reach out and ask where we are registered. In place of a traditional registry, we are asking for money and gift cards towards our honeymoon and travel adventures. See "gifts" page.

11. Do I have a plus one?

If you are in a relationship and we know about it, the plus one will be attached to your RSVP/S.U. Let us know if we missed anyone =)

12. When does the party end?

There is no end time! The after-party will continue at Strandet Hovedgård. Camping will be available, more information to come soon.

13. Will this be a Danish or American style wedding?

We are excited to blend pieces of American, Danish, and Jewish traditions together for a unique and special day, unlike any wedding you have probably been to before =)
Some important things for our guests to note:
-Danish weddings tend to go much later than American weddings. Our DJ will play until 2AM at the earliest, and likely until later than that.

14. Will I be allowed to take photos during the ceremony? We ask that all phones are away just during the ceremony. After that, take all the phots and videos that you would like =)

15. Dress code? “Semi formal” , part of the day will be on grass so might want to think about that with your shoe choice :)

Have any other questions? Just ask!
