The Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge is a stunning, 3,000-foot long walkway that stretches across the Missouri River, giving pedestrians a spectacular view of Omaha’s skyline and an almost airborne experience. On the Nebraska side, enjoy the 3-acre Omaha Plaza with an interactive water jet fountain, and access to the National Park Service Visitors Center. The bridge is connected to more than 150 miles of nature trails.
Gene Leahy Mall is a public park and green space that includes a sculpture garden, children’s play area, dog park, performance pavilion, and interactive water features.
*Under Renovation* The Heartland of America Park features a spectacular 320-ft water jet fountain, gondola rides and and evening light show in addition to Lewis & Clark Interpretive exhibits and WWII and Airborne Memorial Sculptures. The garden cultivates a diverse living plant collection, offers creative nature-based educational programs, and executes significant work to conserve endangered plants of the Great Plains.
Fontenelle Forest and Neale Woods, are the region’s premier nature centers that encompass nearly 2,000 acres of forest, prairie, and wetlands along the Missouri River. Each year, over 80,000 people come to explore and to learn about nature through hikes, live animal demonstrations, natural science exhibits, lectures, classes, camps, and even snow shoe rentals. Fontanelle Forest is also home to TreeRush Adventures a dynamic zipline and ropes course.
The Joslyn Art Museum has been a premier center for the visual arts for 90 years. With art from ancient times to the present, there's something for everyone. The outdoor garden galleries, including the kid-friendly Discovery Garden, offer a welcome view of over 20 artworks in the fresh air. General admission to Joslyn is free to everyone during all public hours. Additional charges may apply for some special exhibitions.
