Sabrina & Daniel
February 20, 2025
Sabrina has a Swiss Dad and Filipino Mum, was born in Rio de Janeiro, but raised in Singapore.
You may be thinking, someone with a profile like this must be having an identity crisis and you’re right. It’s the story of her life.
Arriving in Singapore at the ripe age of 1, she spent 30 years in the little red dot, growing up in what she calls the biggest melting pot, from the Swiss and German schools to graduating high school in UWC where she made some incredible friends and who in Cebu will be celebrating our 20 year reunion!
Despite getting into a few Unis in London, she was given a one way ticket to Zurich to find her roots.
She arrived, sticking out like a sore thumb and experiencing winter for the first time. This exotic island girl from South East Asia wasn’t used to these arctic conditions.
This all changed when she met her Swiss Sista from another mister and soon the Swiss adventures began and her real love for her fatherland blossomed.
Season 2: she returned to Singapore after Uni and started her career in Hospitality, via banking, events and finally carved out her own expertise in members clubs.
After another decade in Singapore, lockdown happened, she met Dan the Man and Ba Da Bing Ba Da Boom…she packed her bags, and moved to London as Dans little Asian souvenir…
Meet Daniel Olagunju, "Danye", "Gentry" Once described as "A Jazz loving City slicker". His passion for loving people and being the life of the party runs deep in his veins, his background and upbringing. Being the youngest of 3 with a father leading a Nigerian community as a Pentecostal pastor gave him his love for music and a cause for vibrant celebration.
From primary school to university he surrounded himself with fun, outgoing caring energy, which he reflected from home to the workplace. However, one thing always seemed to be missing. A partner to share everything with.
He searched from Tinder, to Bumble, to tailor made single dating events across the city in search for true love, he even went on a blind date on UK's national television show, yet found nothing. He wanted to find someone that he could truly be himself with, from glitz and glam to tribal vibes and couch hangs and everything in between. In 2018 he embarked on a career move to Asia. Little did he know he would fine his gem amidst the chaos...
Remember that thing called the pandemic? That’s where it all began...
The world was shaken, no one knew what to expect or how to prepare themselves and surely finding love wasn't in the picture. Let us rewind to just before covid took over.
We met in Singapore in 2020, moved in together and reverse engineered the classic steps of a relationship, by stripping away most of the romantic courting acts by living together. A month felt like a year and so by this time we had been dating for 3 Covid years…
After 3 months of cooking cleaning, grocery shopping, washing & ironing - they finally went on their first date!
Another 3 months later, sabrina was whisked away to London to start a fresh new chapter & the rest as they say is history!
2 years later they got engaged and whilst planning an engagement drinks the idea quickly evolved into a Church wedding & Drinks Reception at Daniel’s Members club, The Savile in Mayfair - so 6 months later, they were married.
Fast forward - Another two years later, we find ourselves planning a wedding party and reunion for our closest family and friends to come together from across the world.
We cannot wait to share our vows with you in sunny Cebu, witnessing everyone together in one place celebrating love & community. A reunion we have so long been waiting for….
Daniel is full of surprises, getting engaged in Morzine, France wasn't on Sabrina's mind...
This wasn't an easy task to pull off as Sabrina is all about events and party planning, this had to take the meaning of SURPRISE to an entire new level. The checklist was as follows:
1. Take over a friend's Ski trip where she hardly knew most of the guests.
2. Round up her close friends to travel to Morzine for a surprise engagement party.
3. Plan the proposal in the mountains to solidify that "I can show you the world".
4. Record messages from loved ones who couldn't make the SURPRISE.
5. Practice German for the proposal poem.
6. Design and bring the ring to land (almost got busted at the airport!)
7. Meet a fake tour guide (photographer) at thetop of the ski lift with terrible weather conditions (poor visibility).
8. Convince Sabrina I know what I'm doing walking on the side of a mountain
9. Execute the proposal in terrible German.
10. Return to the chalet where everyone was waiting for the SUPRISE!!!
They got married in London... 9.9.22 is when they said I Do.
The day started in South Kensington, in a beautiful, quaint church with violinists playing modern pop songs.
Following the ceremony, they hosted everyone at the Anglesea Arms pub around the corner, for a quintessential British pub experience.
Daniel entertained a photo shoot on the Tube, one of Sabrina’s (many) weird and quirky ideas…
The evening event took place at the Savile Club, a Jazz band welcomed our guests, an illustrator provided paintings and keepsakes for our guests, and our Pianist ended the evening with everyone dancing the electric side.
2025 will be the pinoy version, as sabrina adds her flavour to the party - get ready for some serious dancing, beach cocktails, live bands and DJ sets!
Introducing yet another James, Salter-Carn is not only a talented musician by day, but his entrepreneurial spirit and ability to learn at rapid pace makes him one of a kind. From cooking to crypto he can advise and share experiences, so if your glass is half empty or half full, James Salter-Carn will surely be there to assist and give you the better measure.
Introducing Micheal Roger Meier (MRM) the brother in law, his tendency to disappear is truly remarkable, you'll often hear the phase "where's Micks?!" being shouted, do not be alarmed as he will reappear just at the right time for the next serving of lechon and beers.
