Isola del Garda is the largest island on Lake Garda. Already inhabited in Roman times, in 1220 there is evidence of a passage of St. Francis of Assisi. During the fifteenth century it became an important ecclesiastical center for meditation, and then passed from hand to hand and arrived today under the ownership of the Cavazza family which is constantly committed to the enhancement of the place, with guided tours and events.
On the island there is an imposing villa built in the early 1900s in Venetian neo-Gothic style, finely decorated and equipped with a tower with battlements. The villa is set in a truly exceptional natural landscape: on the central terrace there is a great example of an Italian garden, while on the lower terrace, close to the lake, fruit trees grow including kiwis, lemons, pomegranates, oranges. Unique flowers can be seen, while palm trees from the Canaries grow alongside the villa.
The park is in its wild state, and here nature grows luxuriantly: for some time now they are also allowed in the park, with the utmost attention to respect for the environment.

Il Vittoriale degli Italiani is a group of buildings, roads, squares, an outdoor theatre, gardens and streams built since 1921 in Gardone Riviera, on the shores of Lake Garda, by Gabriele d’Annunzio, one of the most famous Italian writers and poet of the XX century, with the help of architect Gian Carlo Maroni in memory of the “inimitable life” of the poet-soldier and the Italian endeavour during World War I.
Professional provocateur, Gabriele d’Annunzio led the world's first fascist state and a life so unprecedented that it's hard to separate the truth from the fiction. All of his extravagance and eccentrism reflects in the interior, furniture and his clothes (very well kept in the permanent exhibition).

The Castello Scaligero (Scaliger Castle) in Sirmione is an extraordinary example of lakeside fortification and one of the most spectacular and best-preserved Scaliger fortresses. Built in the second half of the 14th century, the castle takes its name from the Della Scala family who dominated Verona and the area between the 13th and 14th centuries. The castle has a dock that still encloses a small part of the lake today.

At the tip of the Sirmione peninsula, in a fantastic panoramic location, one can find the remains of the largest and most well-preserved Roman villa in northern Italy, which has been known for centuries as Grottoes of Catullus.
Its name dates to the late 15th century, when ancient structures used to be called grottoes to indicate underground places. The reference to Catullus, a Latin poet from Verona who died in 54 BC, can be explained by the fact that in Carme XXXI Catullus celebrated Sirmione as a jewel among all the islands and the peninsulas of seas and lakes.
Recent studies have denied that the villa belonged to the poet, although local tradition has always associated it to his name. The first digging operations carried out at the site for scientific reasons date to the mid-19th century, and were led by Veronese Count Giovanni Girolamo Orti Manara. These digs were crucial to gather information on the past conditions of the villa.

Desenzano del Garda is a lively city on the south shores of Lake Garda. This place is an ideal destination for those looking for a holiday that has the perfect balance between relaxation and recreation. Tourists are able to enjoy any activity, from walks along the lakeside, the long beaches, shopping through the streets of the old town, the nightlife.
Desenzano is also rich of cultural sites: the castle that overlooking the town, the Roman villa, one of the most important example of archaeological site in Northern Italy; the Cathedral in the town centre, dedicated to St. Mary Magdalene; the archaeological museum “G.Rambotti” ,the monumental complex of San Martino, that commemorates the battle fought here on 24 June 1859 between the Austrian army and the Franco-Piemontese one; Todeschini Palace in the historical centre, near the old harbour.
The town stretches over a 4km long peninsula that sticks out into the bottom of the lake, symbolically dividing Desenzano from Peschiera.
Anyone who goes to visit it remains totally enraptured. In fact the variety of periods help make Sirmione an Italian excellence. Le Grotte di Catullo (The Catullus Caves), for example, are associated to the Roman times, and their remains are still open to the public.
However, some of the featured churches, such as San Pietro in Mavino, situated on the highest point of the peninsula, belong to the Lombard era. While the castle, with its distinctive profile, is a legacy of the Scala age.
But the biggest attraction is perhaps represented by Terme, famous throughout the world: the hot spring water was acknowledged in the sixteenth century but the lack of resources prevented the use of the water for some time. It wasn’t until around the nineteenth century that the work was carried out and the first spa was built.
All this gives Sirmione its charm, but also an unbeatable geographical location that makes it unique in the visitor’s eyes. One visitor…. Maria Callas was so fascinated that her husband, at the time Meneghini, gave her a villa, which later became Villa Callas, not to be confused with the palace dedicated to her in Piazza Carducci.
Lonato del Garda is located in a wide hilly area, on the southwest side of the Lake Garda.
Lonato del Garda is amazing for its look of ancient town and its architectural beauties, with a rich variety of well-conserved monuments, first of all the complex owned by the Foundation Ugo Da Como and the marvellous Rocca, of the venetian period.
The territory offers unexpected answers to every hobbies, with its furnished and lovely beach on the lake (Lido di Lonato) and with a lot of opportunities for the leisure time:
Sport facilities, horse riding, cycling and walking through the hills or the alleys with pebbles of the Venetian “Cittadella” in the old town centre.
Lonato del Garda is the ideal place for visitors and tourists.
Excellent typical cousine in the numerous farms and local restaurants, besides the wine and food events in the hamlets of Campagna, Esenta, Sedena and Centenaro.
The town of Salo’ has to be the jewel in the crown of Lake Garda.
Sent on a magnificent sweeping bay this medieval town became a haven of elegance when it flourished under the Venetians.
The new stylish marina and beautiful lakeside promenade, which runs along the whole length of the town and is incidentally the longest promenade on the lake, make it the perfect place for an elegant Italian destination wedding.
In terms of the town itself there are many lakeside bars in which you can enjoy an “aperitivo” and lazily watch the world go by, as well as fabulous Italian boutiques to browse in and first - class restaurants for fine dining.
Salo’ really has everything for the most discerning bride and groom.
The Town Hall , set on the lakeside in the pedestrian area of the town, is actually the “Palazzo della Magnifica Patria” which dates back to the 14th century when Salo’ was the capital of “ Magnifica Patria”.
It is a beautiful old building with an alegant “loggia” underneath and many stunning original frescos inside.
Once a central place for commercial and industrial activities, Verona is recognised as the city of love.
We’ve all heard of the troubled story of Romeo and Juliet…. The tragedy told by Shakespeare is just a tale, but this has not prevented Verona from claiming the most representative places of Shakespearean history: the lovers’ graves, Juliet’s house and that of Romeo. Although the true symbol of the city is the impressive and monumental Arena.
The Roman amphitheatre was probably built during the first century and according to some schools the first half, between the emperors Augustus and Tiberius, whereas others believe the second half, during the reign of Claudius.
The use of the arena has changed quite a bit over the centuries: from a fortress to protect soldiers, a ‘brothel’ for prostitutes, to a theatre for gladiator games. It was also a place of agonising trails and terrifying burnings. It was during the Venetian rule that the Arena finally closed its bloodthirsty acts. The first renovation was not until around the 1600s. Today the amphitheatre is famous for hosting major concerts and especially for the summer opera festival, the whole world envies this, because of both the extent of work and the undeniable charm of the location.
One of the main features of Verona is the complex architecture, recognisable especially for the perfect fusion of styles: for example, the Roman part with the characteristic walls and modern fortresses, the Scala era with the Castelvecchio, various bridges and the Gardello tower, the Venetian period with its sumptuous palaces, Castel San Pietro, Palazzo della Gran Guardia and the New Theatre, for this we should we thank the Australians.
Lake Garda is in key positions to reach some of the most beautiful cities in Italy and if we think of Venice, we can safely say it is the most beautiful in the world.
No city is quite like Serenissima, with its unique and timeless charm.
The most striking feature is that the historic centre of Venice is divided into 118 small islands separated by canals and connected by bridges, some of which, such as the Rialto Bridge, is ancient and breath-taking.
And it is among 160 canals that you can see the beautiful gondolas and typical lagoon boats that transport people, there are also the less glamorous but still interesting steamboats.
But the former Republic of Venice is famous for two events to lure the world: the Carnivale and the International Film Festival, an event supported by the Biennale, a non-profit organisation which aims to stimulate artistic activity and the art market in the city.
Founded in 1985 by a group of intellectuals, the Biennale still aims to promote new artistic trends and organise international events dedicated to contemporary arts. In third place next to Rome and Milan for tourism flow, Venice attracts visitors for the presence of famous museums, such as Ca Pesaro, Museo Correr or Peggy Guggenheim Collection; for its exclusive and elegant palaces, such as Palazzo Ducale, Palazzo Fortuny or Ca ‘Foscari, and the home of the university; for the monuments and places of interest such as Piazza San Marco, its Bell Tower and its Basilica, the synagogues of the Ghetto, the Bridge of Sighs or the Arsenal. Rounding up the charm of Venice, there is the Laguna, from which, by taking any aquatic environment, you can admire an incredible and exciting panorama of the city.
